I'm a genus of legumes or peas.

I've bright yellow flowers

which ne'er fail to please.

A hardy perennial,

American indians

used my blooms to make yellow dye.

Though I grow in Curt's garden,

I'm not that well known

scarce mentioned, scarce offered to buy.

Each contains a third

Love it Curt. These well written riddle/poems of yours are always a fun challenge. Even after looking at the enlarged photo, I confess I don't recognize the flower but it is very lovely. I wish it was growing in my garden.

Hi Lynn! For me ( Southeastern Michigan) Thermopsis blooms in June.
It is a native North American prarie plant and has a pretty wide range
as far as dealing with different planting zones.

Great job! Thermopolis (not quite right) popped into my head when I read your syllable in the words clues, so I must have seen the name - probably on an order sheet from the flower wholesaler where I get my plants (Hybels). But I'm really not familiar with this plant. Great game!

Bravo!! This I do believe was the 'funnest' one yet, lol!! Course, I had absolutely no clue, though it is absolutely beautiful and yellow to me is such a very happy color, I've never heard or seen the name before.
