I was born of Venus' tears

As she wept at the death of Adonis.

Scuba divers know my name

As well as gardening landlubbers.

Though I do bloom in a rainbow of colors

My "classical color" is red.

My floral meaning's  "forsaken" or "a dying hope".

Plant my tubers in loamy, well-rotted manure bed.
