There are voices outside
Muffled but they're
Ready to come in

The nagging wail of a complaint
Then a short silence
Are you listening to me?

Beautiful daisies
And chocolate bunnies
Dance around here

Another voice intrudes
And the bunnies hide
Well what is your answer?

I turn from the voice
And giggle at the
Sight I behold

A meadow extends
Farther then the eye can see
And I am alone

The voice breathes
Flames at my back
I wont ask again

The meadow alights
All of its beauty destroyed
In one fatal swoop

I close my eyes
And take a deep breath
I'm sorry what was the question?

Sounds like any afternoon in the mad house that is life, mine anyway. "The nagging wail of a complaint." It's almost too funny isn't it, "I giggle at the sight I behold." Such drama always requires some deep cleansing breaths. The closing of the eyes and the centering of ones mind lest it becomes lost in the fray. I loved this by the way!
