This election season the buzzword we keep hearing most is "change."
The word change in and of itself is neutral. It is neither good nor evil. It is the nature of the change and the result afterward that determine the category into which it will fall.
We are at a major crossroads in our nation's development. The choices we make now will have drastic consequences for future generations. It is essential that we consider all the data, and not just what certain people believe we should know/focus upon.
Change simply for the sake of change is the worst kind. Yes, things will be different, but that difference can be equal to or worse than what came before. Change must be positive and beneficial or it is just an empty word.
What kind of change do YOU want to see? Personally, I believe what we need is transformational change... like the metamorphosis from devouring caterpillar into a pleasant butterfly; a radical change that is obvious, clear, apparent, and indisputable.
While the field of candidates pay lip-service to the concept of change, their plans illustrate how little they grasp the word's meaning. In this writer's humble opinion the plans (for change) of all but one of them will dump us from the proverbial frying pan into the fire.
Only one candidate really desires change and earnestly tries to educate the TV-doped masses regarding the REAL issues - the issues the Mainstream Media and those in power do not wish for you to learn about. If you HONESTLY AND TRULY want REAL change, there is no question.
People say they want change, yet they vote for "more of the same" because while they crave something different, something better, they fear change every bit as much as they desire it. Therefore they choose "safe" and "middle of the road" every time.
Beware of those who shout "change!" from the rooftops but whose actions, which speak oh so much louder than words, do not reflect an attitude which embraces change. Hope and faith are dangerous weapons for those who are dishonest. The wolf in sheep's clothing will use these words to entice the unwary right out to the middle of thin ice, knowing that so long as the prey is sufficiently distracted their goals will be met.
Make no mistake: every candidate has an agenda. With Ron Paul, you see exactly what it is and how he intends to accomplish it. The others do not reveal theirs, as they know this would not benefit them: you would not vote for them if you knew what they're hiding from you. While touting plans which will tax our great-grandchildren's great-grand children, they all smile and assure you that their ideas are best... yet none has a clear path to achieve these diaphanous goals. They just want you to believe and have blind faith. It is amazing how many do just that.
At first glance, Dr. Paul's radical ideas seem to be beyond belief. Yet when you read further and begin to comprehend what you're reading - you, like the rest of us who believe in these ideals, will finally see clearly what you've been blinded from seeing... by the powers-that-be and (biased) mainstream media. It's no joke, people.
The only hope we have for the sort of real change we all need is for everyone to learn the facts and act accordingly. If you think it's someone else's duty to do so, you have already given up... so I'm surprised you would even read this far.

All bash the current administration, ignoring the fact that "Rome wasn't built in a day" and these problems have been building for the better part of the past 100-150 years.
It reminds me of something that was said to me when I was young:
"There are two ways to get ahead in this world. One is by excelling in and of your own virtue. The other is by tearing others down to make them look bad (so you look good by comparison) and climbing on top of them. The former is the hardest and most rewarding, but the latter is by far the most common because it is the easy route to take, and most people tend to choose what's easiest over what's best."
We operated on a very simple concept: CHANGE! We explained to a lot of clients and potential clients, "if what you are doing now isn't working, you have to CHANGE something!" Many were reluctant to change. They didn't want to leave the safety of what they knew, because they didn't know what "change" was going to cost them and if it would be successful. Our favorite clients were the ones who said things like, "I've hammered at this and spent so much money and gotten nowhere - what have I got to lose if I change what I am doing? Nothing - nothing to lose, everything to gain."
For whatever it's worth, Dr Paul, you have my vote.
I don't need to do that because his own merits speak for themselves. When someone isn't trying to keep you from discovering them, that is.
I guarantee you if he got the kind of airtime the others were given during the debates his numbers would be a lot higher. His (reported) numbers are directly proportionate to the amount of airtime he was doled out. Coincidence? That is something I do NOT believe in.
I tutor old people on how to use computers, and I know that these folks, who vote, get most of their information from the mainstream media. Having grown up in an era where they could believe what they were told, they still faithfully base their opinions on what the TV, newspapers and radio tell them.
When the media is no longer required to be fair, impartial and unbiased, all bets are off. When the votes are not all counted... or worse, votes for one candidate are attributed to another, we no longer have a properly working system.
Kellie is right: when a system is not working properly, it's time to go back to the ol' drawing board and start from scratch with a fresh approach that WILL work. We are applying the same sort of solutions (like your former client) over and over again and expecting different results. That is the definition of insanity.
HAS our nation gone completely bonkers?
I don't think Ron Paul, even if elected, could make a significant difference. The forces surrounding the President are simply too strong to be stopped. (I am not talking about conspiracies here but social forces, circumstances.)
By the way, the media have never been fair, impartial, or unbiased. The votes have never been all counted. The system has never worked as it was intended by those of good intentions.
As you say, and as Kellie said we do the same thing over and over and wonder why we don't get different results. We need to change some *social* factors, not just who is in office. We need to change the circumstances, not just the faces. Change is going to happen whether we understand it and direct it or not. It's just that we won't like the changes unless we understand and direct them.
Unfortunately, he has a past of not making an optimum choice of words in his former statements. It seems that he just isn't so good at the debating process and the lack of media coverage really did him in.
Just look at how well Barack Obama is doing by just being articulate and carefully choosing his words. He has yet to clarify just what change he would bring about, but that hasn't held him back so far.
The "one issue" voter is Americas single biggest threat. Politicians inherently say whatever you want to hear to get your vote...then more often than not support issues that tax people more, regulate people more which empowers people less.
What he most wants to do is open people's eyes and make them understand what we're letting the government do in time to stop us all from going over the cliff into the deep dark abyss.
