How many of your gather "friends" do you really dread?

How many people do you not look forward to seeing their comments but do not want to disconnect because they haven't been irritating enough to justify a disconnection?

I won't lie, there are a few people who I am friendly with here on Gather that I really don't like but I'm on a 3 strikes system now, once, twice, three times the annoying know-it-all, apathetic, self-righteous fool and you will be gone. I'm keeping tally.

then again, why does it matter? Well it does to me. When a friend comes on and says to me

  • tsk, tsk, tsk remember you are married, you shouldn't write that, what if your hubby reads it or
  • tsk, tsk, tsk, why ask that or
  • tsk tsk, tsk does anyone give a damn about what you are asking anyway, why bother asking it?
  • among other things

So How many of your gather "friends" do you really dread and AM I ONE OF THEM???

I haven't been on here long enough to really dread anyone yet, but there are a few "friends" in general that I dread running into or talking to.

Especially on the Losing Your Religion blog, comments that rub the wrong way are an opportunity to grow in learning patience, in practicing civil discourse and honing communication skills that are exact without offending, if those are things you may want to cultivate or are interested in. Exchange of idea doesn't have to be contentious, even with those who seem to want to beef.

the comments I recieve from some ppl are just mean, i.e. saying i don't have a heart, i'm a pointwhore, etc.

I've been fortunate enough not to hate anyone yet, but there have been a couple of ay holes with snide remarks. I want to slap the stuffing out of people when they correct my grammar too and try to act like I can't spell and they are smarter than me. You are a cool chick, and I am not annoyed by you. The spelling thing really gets me, sometimes I am on here late at night and I'm like half asleep. People who put others down to make them feel better, we got those here, but none are my friends.

So, thank you for not being any annoying Gather friend, and reading this here novel lol!

No Amy, I look forward to see what your going to post next!!! You amaze me with what you come up with, I feel the same about Ed Williams posts, I know that I'll never be bored by the posts or comments. I have not had any comment that were annoying to me by my Gather friends, so I guess I'm lucky. But I have found out that if you spend enough time on Gather you will have a closeness to certain people after awhile, whether you like their sense of humor, ideas, beliefs whether family or religious, or you about the same age to understand the era you both grew up in. For me I can have many different friends on Gather for different reasons, and enjoy them in different ways!

I haven't found any of my friends that i dread their comments. I don't always agree with them. I don't like it when they think they are the garther police. But all in all I like the people on gather.

I don't have any friends that I dread. I must be really lucky that way. Mostly because I accept others for who they are. Especially if I disagree with them. There is one friend I disagree with constantly. But, I still respect the person very much.

I don't have any friends that annoy me. This is not to say that I read or comment on EVERYTHING that they post as I am sure they don't read or comment on everything I post. I go and look and if it interests me then I will comment/rate. I tend to ignore the few sporatic comments that have come my way that, we shall say, bug the shit outta me. I find that that keeps my bloodpressure down.

I enjoy seeing what interesting twists your mind takes. LOL sometimes it twists more than mine!!! But as I have said before I don't always comment. So hang in there and keep that mind twisting!!!!

So far (I haven't been on here very long) I haven't ran into any that I dread. I read article that I personally don't like and so I just click it off, but I can't say I have a "following" either, so I sympothize with what is going on with you, but I haven't really personally had that happen.

but i usually ignore the comment or don't say anything.
i don't think they've been from ppl i've connected with, though.

None of my friends are people that I dislike. There was one guy for a while that left snide remarks after a lot of my comments and I hated it when I saw his name pop up in my email. That's been a while now. We were never connected or anything, and I don't think he ever commented on any of my stuff, just commented on my comments.

I don't dread anyone on my friends list, because if I did, they wouldn't... be on my friends list. I do dread reading comments by certain sour and overly righteous individuals who have no idea how hypocritical they are, because I want to go off on them soooo bad...

Every comment on one of my posts is someone letting me know they've read my work. My connections generally are well mannered whether arguing or agreeing with me... though some things people have to say can be annoying, I enjoy a good debate too much to dread them, even when we strongly disagree.
So... there's not a "them" in my connections for you to be one of... at least not a "them" as described in this post, LOL! ^_^
