The Monster I AM not
by René Allen
The Monster I AM not appeared before me in words, and thoughts, and actions of others devoid of clarity and lacking enlightenment. Seeing not their own reflection, they became CONFUSED.

I like how the topics of each of these are so varied, yet explore something very deep.

Thanks Jennifer Lee and Shelbia.
Still reading the comments . . .
I have to say that writing in "30" ~ thirty ~ words or less really forces the Writer to REFLECT. . .
The READER then forces the Writer to reflect some more in relation to what is added by the READER. This is a very interesting and HELPFUL process.
HUGS & THANKS ~

In that sense I find that they are much more interactive than regular poems as a rule that tell and show you rather than guide you to a door that you open for yourself to see what's waiting on the other side.
I want to check out the last Snippet that you did--I like the idea of leaving the Snippets open for all the Members to interpret. I love what you said Dear Friend of Mine ~ "[Snippets] are much more interactive than regular poems as a rule that tell and show you rather than guide you to a door that you open for yourself to see what's waiting on the other side." ~ Jennifer N.
Thanks for adding to this thread Jen. I'm going back up to read the other comments here...
" . . . our infinite capacity to project." ~ is exactly what I am speaking of in this Snippet...
Taking this Snippet DEEPER ~ I am asking the Reader to remember to reflect within ~ search their "self" for the reflection that they are looking at and determine whether or not they may not be "confused" about who is WHO and what is WHAT . . . or not.
Thanks for adding to this thread John ~ Good to SEE you.

"People only see the worst of themselves in others." ~ Lisa Frost
Do you think that people also SEE the BEST of themselves in others as well?
Have you ever met a person who showed you the level of compassion or the level of agony that you possess?
Have you ever met a person FULL of DRAMA, and asked of yourself ~ "Could that be me?
Hope you come back to respond!
Your Friend,
Rene
It is our "uniqueness" and "individualism" that make us so special...like puzzle pieces that come together to make the GRAND PICTURE.
I'm loving your comment! Thanks for adding to this conversation.

That is an interesting concept as well. I have always tended to see the best in others, even when it was undeserved and the worst in myself. (I have several friends who fuss at me about this...LOL)
Enjoyed your snippet.
this is you in real made by the shadows of neighbors.

That is a GOOD trait Lisa ~ To SEE the BEST in others ~ even when undeserved. . . .
Now about SEEing the worst in yourself ~ We'll have to work with you on that ~ L O L. Try to SEE the VERY BEST in yourself, and most likely, others will too -- I do {smiles}.
Your Friend,
Rene
Thanks for stopping by.

this is intriguing. i've joined the group altho i still have difficulty claiming to be a writer. i just like words and writing and yes, i know in the broader sense i'm a writer. this snippet of yours is so appealing to me because of the visual. it reminds me of humor panels i've done for a blog (HCD - Hourly Comic Day) - mostly a year or so ago. your piece is a terrific piece to take off and ponder on because i think i could travel in so many different directions and a different one each time i explore it. way cool.
Much pleased that you joined us in Snippets Wrick. WE hope that you won't be shy about adding in more of your Snippets of "30" words or less. The ones you have written thus far have been very good. In fact, the Hourly Comic Day that you mentioned here is an excellent idea for some Comic Snippets. Now a writer would have to truly be "talented" to come up with "30" words or less for comics. <hint ~ hint!>
WE KNOW you are an ARTIST without any doubt whatsoever. That FEATHER you created knocked me off my feet!
Thanks for reading my Snippet. And, you are right ~ with this VISUAL, I could go on and on . . . ahahaha!
That is EXACTLY what your input does for me ~ lol ~ Please give us the link for that 19 Planets BLOG. If you have comic panels here on Gather anywhere, HOLLER ~ HOLLAR! I want to read them....
OFF~FOOT DIVERSION and LANDING IN DELIGHT ~ ABSOLUTELY!
And, you've also given me two good titles for some writings ~ smiling, and pulling out my FEATHER PEN . . .
Looking forward to soaring to HIGHER HEIGHTS Wrick! So good to have you as a "friend".
What a phenomenal snippet, Rene. This is one that I think deserves some reflection and a second read. I'm always impressed with those who excel at these short, short forms, able to convey so much in just a few words.
Thanks Lisa. You too are a BIG part of the Snippets Crew! ~ L O L . . . Let's SEE those Snippets of "30" words or less Lisa...
You're being modest ~ l o l.
This is one I had to read twice. The first time I read it, I couldn't believe how profound and concise it is.
Well what a compliment Gary ~ Thank you.
So much work in "monitoring" a Group ~ I tend not to do so (sometimes to my PAIN I must say ~ l o l) . . . There is nothing worse than having a member in any Gather Group that refuses to pay attention to the Group Description . . . my BAD.
It's all about SHARING the LOVE of POETICS!
