I wrote a Gather article "back in the day" about one of my favorite haunts to find loads of freebies (@ Fat Wallet) but I wanted to update my friends a bit about where I get info about products and freebies!
My first stop is always http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/free-stuff. I have scored LOADS of freebies from the helpful posts at this site--all sorts of things like flower seeds, coupons, magazines, Coke points, beauty products, t-shirts, bracelets, stickers, you name it. You don't need an account there to view the Free Stuff thread, which is great.
I signed up awhile ago at http://shespeaks.com/ --SheSpeaks.com
This site sends free products and all you need to do is fill out surveys about their performance. I have received free magazine subscriptons, as well as a new Sonicare toothbrush (valued @ $80!) that came in time for my hubby's Christmas present :)
I am a member at http://www.bzzagent.com/
BzzAgent is an awesome site to which many Gatherers belong that provides its agents with free products to use in exchange for some "word of mouth" advertising (or "Bzzing"). Currently, I am enrolled in five campaigns & have received free cans of Oust Surface and Air Disinfecting Spray, Carolina Rice, Glade Wisp Flameless Scented Candle and refills, Ziploc bags and containers, and the Logitech universal remote (valued at $200!!). I received all of these products for free, and I write about my experiences with them on the site.
My husband and I are members at http://www.epinions.com
Epinions.com is a writing site where members can post user reviews of products they've tried. My husband writes there actively and not only earned us a lot of $ for his writing (we just cashed out another $200--going for a new baby seat!), but Epinions also sends its active members products to try from time to time. We received a Lamaze Spin and Explore Garden Gym for the baby (he doesn't like it, but oh well!) for free, and it retails $40. Epinions is having a crazy promotion right now--write ten reviews, receive $10. It's easy, easy money! Now if only I had time to write more reviews! Thank goodness for my husband...
I use http://www.startsampling.com
Start Sampling has also allowed me to get a bunch of freebies--you can only request one per day, but I've received all sorts of things--food, candy, magazines, beauty items...it always arrives. Through Start Sampling, I joined Vocalpoint http://site.vocalpoint.com/guest/index.html
Vocalpoint is sponsored by Proctor and Gamble (P&G), which make some of my favorite products. They are sending me a welcome kit in the mail with samples to try; I will keep you posted on whether my participation in Vocalpoint provides me with the samples they've promised to send (as long as participants remain active on their site).
I joined House Party http://www.houseparty.com/
...but I have yet to be accepted into a party. Once I am, I will receive products that will allow me to host a party with the items! I missed out on the Hershey's Bliss House Party--:(--but I am receiving coupons in my email from House Party to try the products...not bad!
...these are some of the sites I use to find loads of freebies. Where do you find yours? Post them here!! :) I'd love to learn of more spots to visit.

and that about sums up my freebie finding sites, well the ones I actively use anyway.
Walmart.com has freebies all the time and come fast.
Fatwallet.com is a good one as you said.
Dealofday.com is a good one.
JF--I will check out Dealofday.com--that's new to me. Great advice too, about what to avoid with some of these spam sites.
Deb--I haven't had any bad luck with the sites I posted; I do use a specific email address only for freebies in order to avoid getting eight tons of spam. I haven't had any telemarketers or odd things happen, though, in my quest for freebies as of yet!
Kim--you are welcome!
Gather seems to be the best source for me.

Thanks for your comment on my article too. Too bad you didn't live closer we could go and hang out get a cup of coffee/tea and just relax. I could use a day like that.
