Hello!
I start school tomorrow. I am finishing my degree. Associates of Arts degree that is. This semester I have a full load. 12 credit hours. Yikes. I really have no clue what my homework load will be but I can assure you it will be vast. I am ok with that because I love doing homework. I have been wierd that way ever since I went back to school. I think it has something to do with me paying for it. LOL!
Today I had a hands on interview for Aniko Salon and Spa here in Chicago. I took 4 years off from doing hair and massage and I have decided it is time to go back. I ended up working on my friends hair today, she was my model for my hands on interview. I realized while standing at my chair applying her color just how much I missed doing hair. How much passion and zest I have for the beauty industry and how much of a creative outlet it is for me. Plus I am really talented. I have always had a natural knack for hair. Ask any of my sisters and they will tell you, "I wish you still lived near because nobody can do my hair the way you did". They have been telling me that for 4 years since I moved from Washington and Utah to Illinois. So yes I accepted the position and start next Friday. I will be working Tuesday and Thursdays from 3 to 9 PM. Friday's from 11-8PM and Saturdays from 9-6 PM. WOW. What a hectic schedule plus class 4 days a week.
I am committed to finishing my degree. I know with a work schedule it is going to be tough but I really have felt the need to get it done as I started this many years ago and have put it off long enough. I am used a freaky schedule having spent the last 4 years in the mortgage industry. I don't know why I took 4 years off from doing hair. I suppose it was procrastination again or maybe it is because the time wasn't right to go back. Today I realized how much I have missed being in a Salon. I am grateful that I have a wonderful partner who has been more than supportive and really accomodating over the changes as of late.
I am blessed and I am happy. I am glad to be back behind a chair doing what I love.
Peace
Patrick D.

But that is really cool that you are working again, doing something you enjoy doing.
Anyway, I wish you well with your schooling and your job. It sounds like you're going to be very busy...but at least doing something you love. And THAT is such a blessing....:)
