Being green these days is not only in style, but it's growing in popularity because people are, generally speaking, starting to care. And I think it's great. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things about flying that aren't green. However, you can make your next flight green by doing the following things:
1. Get an e-ticket. This will save you on the fuel and other resources it would cost to get your ticket separately from your departure date. Getting an e-ticket is easy and you simply print it off when you get to the airport.
2. Refuse the napkin. A lot of flight attendants hand out napkins with just about everything...from drinks to pretzels. I don't know about you, but I don't need a napkin for these kinds of things. Refuse the napkin and let it go to someone else to reduce our destruction of trees.
3. Bring your own snacks. A lot of airlines do have snacks, but they're expensive, pre-packaged to the max, and usually not that healthy. Throw an apple or some nuts in your bag and you'll be healthier the cheaper and greener way.
Every little thing you do counts! Keep these things in mind the next time you fly.
