One-Eyed Cardinal

This is the first time I've been able to get a photo of this cardinal.  He is on the feeder daily but is extremely skittish probably because of is disability.  Timing was good that I could snap a photo while he was in a position that made me invisible to him.   I still think he is beautiful.

I love birds!!
Maybe you are right, his one eye makes him just a little more cautious since he can not see from the one missing eye and needs to compensate for it.
Of course it is so good of you to feed this bird and the others!
Poor thing, makes me want to take care of him too!!

Thank you. They are very well fed at my house, lol. Peanuts, safflowers and sunflowers. They are pigs :)

He appears to be eating well! Nice capture!
He does look beuatiful, so hopefully his disability does not cause him to go hungry. He is still beautiful!

I think so. Cardinals are shy birds. It is difficult to catch them unawares. Even when they are eating at my bird feeder, they watch the house frequently. This is a very nice shot Kat!

Could be. We saw a "Parrot lost" sign today. That has to be a first for me. I wish I had my camera with me at the time. :(

As long as they are not on the feeder at the same time they seem to do well together. It's not uncommon to have three or more males on the deck railing waiting their turn to feed at the same time.
