What would you change about Gather?

I wish the earnings would go back up to what they were.

I'm relatively new to Gather so I'm not sure how the other system worked.

You got rewarded more for viewing and commenting.

I don't mind that most are married. I enjoy reading and enacting with the other writers. I haven't been on long enough for me to say what I would change yet.

There are definitely things I can relate to and enjoy sharing with others such as cooking, coupon collecting etc. But when it comes to mom chats, and discussions about bedtime traditions and etc I'm left out and there seems to be a lot of things targeted at families.

I agree about being left out too. A lot of the contests are geared toward moms and leaves a LOT of us out.

I don't mind that there are plenty of moms on here either. I'm 27 and not married and I think there are plenty of others on here as well. It just depends on when you get on here. Later on in the day around 7pm EST there are plenty of people my age here, it's just a matter of finding them.

If you're having trouble finding people who share your interests, do a search for things that you'd like to have in common and friend people who share common interests. That gets them to show up in your feed.

There are a lot of things geared toward moms. I'm glad to see giveaways and chats that aren't. I am a mom, and I'm not not a dog owner, for example, but it's nice to see more of the community included.

If there was one thing I'd change about Gather, I'd like to see it set up an affiliate program with Amazon, so that we and Gather could benefit if people bought the items we tend to talk about and promote anyway. We have that on another site I'm involved with, and it's just easier - easier to display, easier to earn. If they went a step further and set up affiliations with CafePress, Zazzle, and any of the other arts and crafts sales sites people use that might have such a program, and then rewarded people for promoting them rather than smacking hands for using referral links or promoting their own products, it would benefit both Gather and the artists.

I'd like to do away with the anonymous flagging system that's ruining so many excellent posts and discouraging so many excellent people. I'd also like to be able to earn more, of course!

Get the old point system back.
