Can You Identify this Critter?

While driving around in north Georgia today we came to a small town and noticed an abundance of these critters.  They were in grassy areas around parking lots and long the side of the road.  I have no clue what they are, do you?

I can't get a feel for how large they are. Gophers are about the size of a smallish squirrel. If they are larger than that, they could be marmots.

if it's smaller, like rabbit size, could be a gopher.

Around here the rabbits are nearly the size of my beagles, lol.

Those are swamp rabbitts, not the cotton tails.
I believe those are ground hogs.

We always called them woodchucks. Because we lived in the country and they made a mess of our crops we also called them target practice.

Woodchucks! Look at those evil claws. They'll dig under buildings, dig big holes out in the middle of nowhere that livestock can step in and break a leg. I see one occasionally, but I've never used them for target practice like Digital Diva. haha!
