MAJOR RANT

I am so pissed off right now.  I just got back from taking the kiddos for a walk.  Well where we live there are no sidewalks, so I have them walk "on the white" part of curb. 

We today was trash day, and brianne was walking on the grass, which I know I should not let her do but it is not like she is walking in the middle of peoples yard.  Well she was walking along that area and ever since I fell  and got hurt, Brianne get freaked out about flying bugs ( i am working with her on it).   Well 2 flies came off the bottom of the garbage can. 

 

She starts screaming.  I mean you would have thought something bit her or stung her.  No she was just freaking cause of the fly. All of sudden Brayden and I hear someone teasing her for crying.. GRR... this is where I get pissed.  It was not bad enough that this teenager decided to make fun of her cries, but he went as far as to all out laugh at her. 

This is the part of the story I am proud of...

Brayden hears this and he goes really  loud "Mommy who is laughing at brie"? and then he sees the kids laughing at her.  He says even louder, " mommy it is not nice to laugh at people when they are crying"?   that was when I got to say my piece.  I said "brayden some people just don't know manners and never will" and he goes mommy howcome they laughed? I just said they did not know better and by the time we got by the house, the kids were upset and giving me dirty looks.

 

I personally don't care if people think I am a witch, I am sick of the kids around me not knowing any better then a 3 year old.  Grr.. I feel better now.

Nobody should laugh at anyone crying, but espically not a small child. I'd be ticked too.

I would have gotten mad too!! The teenagers now days have no manners nor common sense. They think they are grown. They know everything now days.

I'm glad Brayden gave you the opportunity to explain it to him and make them realize (hopefully) that their behavior was pathetic.

No matter what you do you'll never silence the bullies. If you, as an adult, approach them in any way that might be threatening, you're the one who goes to jail. You're right to try and teach your kids how they should act and ignore the dummies in the world.

I wish I could say I hope they learned their lesson, but I doubt it. Some kids can be so cruel.

I would have gotten mad as well. Not only are teenagers laughing at a small child, they don't seem to care that you are there with her. Like it's okay to laugh at someone's child. I would have said a lot more than what you did. I woudl have asked them if their parents laughed at them when they cry.

i hope you know i am not at all saying all teens are like this, it just seems the ones who live around here are.. I hope you know I meant no offense by anything i said in this post

Glad you feel better too. It's amazing how unbelievably rude some teens are today. They are much worse than when I was in high school. Glad you had to remind your kid of a lesson and hopefully convicted the snots who laughed at your girl.

If I had a teen that laughed at a toddler I'd smack them. I would have said something about how childish they were acting. They had no right to be offended by what you were saying. You were just being honest to your kids.

kids can be so rude..... we live three houses from an elementary school...... the language they use walking by our house you would not believe....

Yeah that's horrible but i am very happy at the way you handled it.Sad to say but in my neighborhood even the adults act that way and all you can do is show your kids manners and compassion and use the negative people as a lesson of how the world works and what not to do.

Aww poor girl. I have a 6 year old girl who really used to panic over flies and other buzzing bugs. She is getting so much better now and still jumps a little, but have not screamed over it in a year or so.

It is ridiculous how rude some kids can be. And that teenager is a kid if she acted that way!
