Not wanting to jinx the outcome I didn’t want to post and share my concern about my husband possibly being laid off. Six weeks ago his company announced they were having another round of layoffs. The company is looking to outsource as many jobs as possible in their IT and Project Management groups. Luckily my husband’s job is safe for now. We don’t know if there will be more layoffs in the coming months and if so what groups or departments will be under the microscope.
I’m dreading part two of my root canal next Tuesday. Outside of charging me more money I don’t understand why this procedure was broken into two parts since only one tooth is involved. Seriously, nine shots of Novocain is not my idea of a good time and I have to have it done again?
The photo is of a daylily that is in bloom today. If you want to see what else is in bloom in my yard see my latest photo essay that I posted yesterday here.

I'm happy to hear your husband didn't lose his job. Stinkin' outsourcing. Ugh. I've never had to have to root canal but my husband has so I know they aren't fun. I'd be dreading it too.
I am glad your husband is safe. I hope things will get better by then.
Glad that your husbands job is safe. Sorry about you having to endure another round of shots for that root canal.
That's wonderful that your hubby's job is safe. That is something of real value in this economy!
I hope everything goes smoothly! Glad to hear that the job isn't vanishing!
It's a lovely daylily! I can understand what kind of stress that places on your family. Your husband has a job, yet that possibility of lay-offs just hangs out there, just out of sight, always there like some big dark cloud. I hope you all get good news. It's terrible being in limbo like that.
Such a pretty dayLilly, glad your hubbys job is good. Oh, my i would not like having all of those needles either for the root canal. Not the best choice but when i heard root canal i said go ahead and pull it out. You are brave soul.
Prayers for you and your husband. I know what that is like, my company is doing the same. They plan to have 90% of the US jobs out of the country by 2010. All of us are working know with the knowledge that we simply will not be here next year, but the greedy company refuses to let us know when the axe will fall. Its very stressful, so many {{{HUGS}}} for you both.
So sorry about the root canal. All of mine have always been done in two parts. I think that they have to give the root area, or the place where the root was removed, time to dry out a bit before they fill it to keep it from getting infected. I know it sucks... a root canal is not something you want dragged out. {{{HUGS}} for that too sweetie!
Kat, I keep trying to click on the link to see your photo essay, but when I do, it takes me to an unformatted web page where I can see other's comments, but I cannot add my own. I do not believe its your link, as I have had this issue with a few other gather pages recently. I will keep trying, but I wanted to let you know, some of those photos took my breath away. The Canna lillies are amazing, and that sunflower was stunning. I am in awe my friend! I wish my thumb was as green as your own!
I am glad to hear that your husband's job is safe, for now. It is no fun living with that axe hanging over your head......Don't even get me started on root canals. I agree with Diane H, just pull the tooth and get it overwith! Hope your appointment next week isn't as bad! :)
I'm glad about your husband's job. That must be a relief. As for the root canal, I guess it's a necessary evil. Two parts? Have no idea. Take care Kat. There are much worse in life as you know.
That is a good new/bad news message. Happy for the4 good news and really sorry about the root canal. I know people that go to Mexico and get it all in one day at less than half the price. I have a friend that went to Greece. Even after his plane trip for him and his wife, a week of vacationing (part of that time with a sore mouth), it still cost him less than in the USA. That is one area of medicine where you don't save much in Canada over the USA.
What a clever idea to create a vacation!
Yeah, I wish I had thought of that myself. lol
That's a pretty daylily
pretty lily
I'm so glad your husband made it through this round of lay-offs. Good luck on the deantal work.
Gorgeous red daylily! I'm glad your husband's job is safe for now; I've been through that layoff scare, and it is no fun! Best of luck on your 2nd half of the root canal!
It must be a big relief to know that your husband's job is safe at least for now.
That's serious and I understand it completely.
Glad your husband's job is safe. Sorry about the root canal. I've had a couple in the past. No fun. I'm having dental work done, too. Everytime I go, it is more than the pre agreed to price. I'm about to cancel the next two visits and say enough already. I'm up to close to $1,000 and still going. Very pretty daylilly. Nice photo.
Sorry to hear about your DHs job situation ! Keep the faith ! I did the root canal bit ,in December ,bummer !!!
Honey, all I can say is I'm so sorry, and you must live one day at a time.
I hope you feel better, and all will be okay with hubby's job.
God bless you dear.
It's a blessing hubby's job is safe.
Awesome daylily!
Glad he didn't lose his job. These are such stressful times.
Good luck with the root canal!
Why did they break the root canal into 2 visits? That sounds painful...as I have had a few root canals myself!
I'm glad your husband is keeping his job for now as well. It is hard to find a new one when you have to!
I have been through the worry of lay offs a little while back and I know how you must be feeling. Hang in there and pray. I also love your picture. Thanks for sharing.
That must be a big relief for you!
I totally understand the job concern...we were worried for a while about my husband's as well, but seem thing are okay for now...we'll see what next year brings.
As for the root canal...all I can say is "Bless your heart" honey.
Wonderful news that your husband still has a job. It must have been very stressful for your family.
Sorry about the root canal. I had to make a decision if I should attempt to save a tooth that already crumbled in half (due to medication I take) or have it pulled. The tooth is in the back and won't be visible so I chose extraction. It gets pulled the first of next month. Right now I'm on an antibiotic for an infection from the tooth. Ick!
I wish you best of luck with this.
I'll be sending positive thoughts your way. It can be stressful when you're worried about yourself or someone being without a job. You and your husband are in my thoughts :)
As for the root canal.....yikes. I do not like the dentist and DREAD having dental work done. I just got some things done this year and hope it's the last I have to deal with. Good luck with all your appointment.
The bloom is beautiful! Happy Friday to you.
good news about your husband. It's scary out there. I don't think I'll have anything to worry about but you never know. I got an email from a former co-worker last night on linkedIn and he said I was the first person he connected with there and was still working.
Good news about your husband...Sorry about your root canal..... Good luck... Have a great weekend... Missy
I'll be thinking of you and your husband and his job. I hope you make it through this without a layoff. I know of many who have been layed off and its pretty scary.
I've been in your shoes with the root canal I can't think of anything I've experienced worse than that - even childbirth wasn't that awful!
luv the photo! 10
The root canal was split into two days because of infection in the jaw canal. They've probably applied medicine directly, and you'll be much better tomorrow. AND you may need much less novocaine. After all, the tooth's root is dead.
Pretty lily!!
Here's hoping that your husband's job stays safe. Layoffs are no fun and I speak from experience.
I've never (fortunately!) had a root canal, so I have no clue why they'd split it in two except maybe in order to torture you more. :)
I'm sure everything will be ok, keep us posted on your husband and your root canal.
oh, love, root canals are no fun....hope it goes ok for you. And I'm glad to hear your husband's job is safe for now.
Hope things are getting better for you!
