Who does this? Some fool dropped a kitten into a US Mailbox in Boston sometime last Friday. The poor baby was discovered Saturday afternoon by the postal worker making his/her normal rounds. The poor little creature has been dubbed Postina and will be put up for adoption as soon as she is well. I am sure she won't have trouble finding a home. Read the rest of the article here

It sounds very much like what happened in a library in Iowa. The book Dewey is about that kitten. It is a good read, I highly recommend.
I have read Dewey and actually thought of Dewey myself when I read the news article. You are right it was a really good read, there is a book coming out soon about a cat seems like it will be another Dewey type story. The book is called Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper. It comes out on August 25th.
I think the poster worker wound up adopting the kitty.
