I have met my last 2 boyfriends online. Both sites had free areas. I can't mention them here... they were adult sites. I wish everyone that is looking the best of luck.

I very honestly put in for a dating site a few years back. I honestly considered myself kind of chunky, but not terribly obese. I was willing to accept men who labeled themselves similarly.

Then I went and started scoping out the men who fell into my categories...

Found three and four hundred pound guys who wanted "athletic" to "thin" girls, under 30, no children, attractive... blah blah blah...

I was like "Dream ON!"

Sadly, NO ONE was looking for a chubby, almost 40 single mother with children...

It was a very depressing couple of months. I gave up when I realized I offered nothing that the general male public found "marketable."

Well Lisa, it was their loss. and you are right. Even the big guys want a size 5 girl. What the heck is up with that?

I've never joined a dating website, but I did meet my husband on the Internet. :)

Well I have my profile on a lot of the sites. I have to say that I think I have gotten more and most cruel rejection on the free sites. I have not personally joined E-Harmony for two reasons, the price of course and also that they send you only those they think are suited to you. I would rather read the profiles and decide on my own. I have written to a lot on PlentyofFish but although free, seem to be a lot of cruel, superficial and then those who don't respond at all. I, probably have met the most in person through the Yahoo Personals which is a pay site but ot as expensive as E-harmony. There are a few others, mostly pay that I have not joined. I stay totally away from True as they send you notices that people are interested in you when in actuality they are not. I would like to say this is a good way to meet someone but in my case, although I still look online, I have not found it to be worth it.

I never had any trouble meating a guy( getting rid of them yes) I have been married for over 20 years so I don't know much about online dating cause if I did I would be in big trouble. My old man is kind of funny that way

oh Lora my small size is a twelve ( the same as Marilyn Monroe BTW ) and I have never ever had trouble getting guys to look ( okay not so much in resent years but I am a grandma )

I met my current bf online about 4.5 years ago, no dating service, nothing, he just randomly imed me on yahoo messenger, and we've been together ever since, how crazy is that!

I never did any of these things. I'd be leery to meet over the net, but then again I did meet my husband through letters... but for some reason that seems different.

Oh, I would love to give my opinion on this one! I have tried those internating sites, I even tried some phone one from a radio station. I had the worst luck! I gave up on that stuff. I know it is a long shot...but I am waiting for the "right" guy to fall at my feet. I will let you know when I am lucky. LOL ;)
