For over 10 years I lived in an apartment 100 feet from the railroad tracks. 26 trains a day.
Tonight I sat on the deck of my new apartment. I can hear the creek down the hill. The moon is lighting up the forest. I just finished eating a couple of hamburgers that I cooked on the barbeque. Frogs are croaking. And, it's quiet.
Life is good.

How did you last ten years with 26 trains a day? (Ironically, he began to miss the constant rumble, and eventually installed a 24/7 loop of train sounds so he could sleep at night.)
We moved up north to the lake two years ago from a suburban area. We used to hear trains occasionally and sirens from the firehouse. We ignored them or didn't even notice them. Now we're in a very quiet place and we notice every sound. Fortunately, there are few other than geese, ducks and loons calls.
I don't miss it a bit!
Sounds like a great place for 4 lucky girls...fingers crossed.
Glad you are enjoying it.
And, just so you know, the print and the original piece I got of yours were the the second and 3rd pieces of art I hung on the walls. (The first was one of my photos from a trip to Mexico)
We just moved to a new apartment in Minnesota, thankfully we are on the lake - hope to get some fishing done soon~
Even when you girls are over, it's still nice. Just not so quiet!
