No, it's not an oxymoron. Before the Italian Mafia took over the gangstering business, the tough guys, the goodfellas, were Jewish. They were the killers; they ran the gambling and other corrupt criminal activities.
These were young men, many who never finished school. They hung out and were enlisted into criminal activity - during the early 1900s, generally before WWII.
It's a fascinating read, although so much seems be speculation - would have, might have, probably did, one can imagine he ..., there are many ways of saying we think this is true due to some facts, but don't have actual knowledge of this.
So many people think Jews are intellectual businessmen, but physical wimps. Well, there was at least one era when that was NOT so.
