Every year on the Friday before Halloween our Village sponsors a Ragamuffin Parade down Main Street.
Bigger Children, and little ones with their parents, dress up in their Halloween costumes and - led by Fire Trucks with lights flashing - go around a few blocks before enjoying cider and donuts at the firehouse.

It's sweet, and it reminds me how great it is to live in a small community where such simple traditions still survive. I hope you enjoyed this slice of small-town life.

"Did somebody die, or somethin?'" Funny, people who weren't raised in the Village don't know of this tradition, yet its been going on for at least the 23 years I've had a shop on Main Street - shrug.
Thanks everyone - I just wanted to share with you (and remind myself) why I still live here when I could live anywhere in the world. It's my home.
You're so right Madame. It makes my hometown a lovely place to live.
I like that tradition, Marilyn.
