Made it today... by the skin of my teeth. 1704 words. The day started well -- got 1000 words almost immediately and quit to do some housework. Then kept putting it off, lol. I will try to do better tomorrow. Cumulative total is 5584.
I know how you feel. I thought about it last year, but didn't do it. This year was my year to start, and I hope it will kick-start my fiction-writing habits so I can just keep writing forever!
I'd thought about doing NaNoWriMo for several years (first read about it in Writer's Digest a few years back) but somehow this year the realization sank in that if I was going to do it, it had to be now or it would become never. So here I am....

I wish I could participate this year.. but.. I have no idea what to write about.. nor do I have any time this year to write about anything..
I would love do participate and finish the goal one year.. hopefully.
I try not to get too distracted between spurts, but it happens. Good work on your word count!
And I'm glad to hear that you have not had any serious snafus yet. Let's hope it stays that way.
I'm picking up speed as I get closer to the plotted areas, and it's already getting pretty sad and emotional. :(
