Well you got what you asked for; a President who thinks that printing money, bailing out institutions then dictating to them corporate policies and payscales is the answer to our economic woes. Note this is the socialism, the nationalizing of yet more of the private sector and the destruction of our Constitution I warned everyone about back in October 2008. This very President declared government is the answer, not once has he spoken of the power of the American people's ingenuity and productivity.
Give the American people the economic tools to reinvigorate our economy and it will happen.
Instead we are extending unemployment benefits, proposing giving rebates even to those who don't even pay federal taxes, continue to "rebuild " for what seems forever our highways and bridges...expand the government yet even more.
Where is all this money coming from?
Why aren't we focusing on drilling for our own oil, building new coal fired and nuclear power plants...we need energy, cheap energy. We have the resouces let's go get it, that alone will add few million private sector jobs right there.
Then we can also maybe realize a renaissance of manufacturing in this country instead of looking overseas for cheap labor making crappy products tainted with all kinds of poisons. Let's face it, China has no standards and when they get called on the carpet , they execute the "CEO's" or they commit "suicide" yeah right.
This whole economic fiasco is going to get worse until we get a President, Senate and Congress that understands it needs to roll back its cancerous intrusion into every facet of free American lives and get out of the way of what we do best.
I guess the beguiled will still fail to see that the change was actually a coup to create a socialist state out of hte last bastion of freedom in this world.

I find it impossible to believe that anyone of you respondents, given the circumstances reversed with it being McCain associated with a criminal like Rezko, a domestic terrorist like Ayers, a hate mongering pastor like Wright, would have heave your support upon him opinion.

Also, hatemongering pastors. Have you taken a look at some of the posts on this site by people who say they are "pastors"? Going back to the Constitution, good or bad, accepted or not -- there is a separation of church and state -- that is the Constitution.
I challenge anybody to show me where Jesus or Paul, or Peter or John or James, or Timothy, or any of the 1st century Apostles -- but especially Jesus -- approved of, promoted, or even engaged in politics? Their mission was the spreading of the gospel, and winning souls through the love of Jesus, the Anointed One. One of the reasons that I have refuse ordination is because I am fully aware that when I take on that calling, politics is out; I know this, and there is no question in my mind about it.
Preaching politics from the pulpit is just plain wrong, and those who engage in it, have an appointment that shall inevitably be kept with God, for God did not authorize them to do this, not in HIS name. Even the Popes have taken great care about how they deal with politics. They may pray, and advise leaders, but they do not do what these "pastors" have been doing. I commend the Pope, even if some of his subordinates are misbehaving

I know that Obama's pastor isn't alone in engaging in politics and in his case hate mongering from the pulpit. at the same time he enjoyed tax exempt status for being a religious entity. Part of the rules for that taxc exwempt status is to not engage in politcal activites from the pulpit. He violated that for one, secondly hos message is a very hateful and angry one, one that Obama sat and listened to for over twenty years, donated money to him and had his children baptized by him.
None of that on Obama's part is illegal, but if you want to lead this nation, then this message should have been appalling to him and speaks volumes of his real character that he spent twenty years listening to it.

See, here's the thing: with the type of small business my family had, and because of the relationship/pastoral calling of my family, there has been a great deal of contact with pastors, preachers, and so many "Christians". I'll go so far as to say that the people -- most of them -- probably were/are Christians. Yet, they'll sit in dead, icebox churches, listening to dead sermons, where I would pull my hair out, stick a gun a head, and blow my brains out if I had to listen to that junk week after week, year after year. So many even brag about being members of the Church for 30, 40, and 50 years. One must smile, and not say anything, not vocally, but only think: "you are out of your everloving mind. You don't even READ the Bible, do you?" I have come into contact with, easily, hundreds of people like this.
Add to this, those whose pastors had been involved in scandals, and I need not name them, do I, for some of them are famous. The question those outside of these congregations may ask is, "Why would they have sit in (a famous one) Jimmy Swaggart or (another famous one) Jim Bakker's church all of those years when he was no good?
Then, there are the Roman Catholic priests. One may ask, "Why would anyone stay in the Roman Catholic church after the priests are proven pedophiles?"
Every denomination has had their clergy with their scandals -- no one has escaped.
In my hometown, one of the pastors was convicted of pedophilia, and once he served his time, the congregation said, "He has asked for forgiveness. He has done his time. We shall fire the current pastor and take him back, for now he is redeemed." That is exactly what they did, too.

I don't know the situation with Obama, and Wright. What I do know is that Wright is a Bishop of a well-established, highly reputable, Christian denomination who defended him, and he is still listed as the Pastor/Bishop of that church in good standing, although I know that a younger pastor has taken over. Don't take my word for it. Click on where it says to find a church, go to Chicago, Illinois, and Obama's previous church is number 51. There you'll see Wright is listed as pastor.
If this major denomination -- his superiors -- of the United Church of Christ -- whose leadership is mostly White do not see fit to dismiss Bishop Wright, I tend to think there is far more to what we have heard than what we have heard. It wouldn't be the first time that only half, or a portion of the story was told.
I think that speaks volumes.
I am not defending Obama or Wright here, but I'll tell you this: I have been the subject of misinformation and lies far too many times to trust what "seems or appears to be."
I know how that has worked with people. All too often people manipulate and twist the truth, so that if you were not there yourself, you would swear that the lies were really true. That's why I'm saying that there is probably more to this than we really know -- based on my own experience about what some have done to me. The same thing may have very well happened to you as well -- the truth twisted so badly until it was transformed into nothing but lies, lies, and more lies.
