Run - just run
So your eyes can't see
Run - as fast as you can
Through the mild of trees
Don't look behind
Cause you don't know what you might find
Salute everyone
That you have ever known
Cause you're not going to see them again
Never look at the hole
Cause you might not understand
That you've been in a war
And it was the saddest thing
You've ever done
You couldn't believe what you are now
You couldn't even shake this feeling no matter how
This war smashed our hearts
It broke us apart
I don't know where to start
And it may take a while
Behold my friend
I know it will end
Look around and stand
Believe and lend
Don't you understand?
Running won't end
This war and take my pen
To end this end?

I always want to run away but you remind me that I must try to learn from the challenges given and fight them well.
Excellent poem you smart girl!!
actually..this war that I was talking about ..it is the state of wars we live daily..like what penni said...
Actually I had a tune in my head and wrote its lyrics..Glad that you liked it...
I know the war that you refer to. I fought that war too. Until I said no more.
I can't live my life second hand. I can only be me...or die.
In a hospital, in a coma, I was told show compassion. There is no other way.
Now I do...all the time...and nothing can touch me now. No one has a hold on me.
But your poem was gripping. It drew me into your painting. I felt every word.
I must read more of your stuff. Bravo.
Also, thank you for checking out my second chapter. I really appreciate your nice comment.
Let´s face it, Lebanon is the Poland of the Middle East and Israel is like Germany as a neighbor. Feeling threatened like Germany before WW 2, the Israelis have internalized the offense they themselves suffered as a result of the holocaust and are now in many ways the offenders.
"Salute everyone
That you have ever known
Cause you're not going to see them again"
off to read more of your writing! xo
Mansour - glad that you liked it !!

Leads one to ask a lot of questions of oneself.
We all hope for the wars to end.
