Well we now have 7 weeks till little brother is due. Still have to decide what we are naming him, we have some ideas but havn't made a decision for sure yet.
The room that will be the baby's was our computer room/office, so we had to move some stuff around. We have a big room upstairs that has my craft stuff, and lots of Maddies toys but we never usually spend any time up here. I alwasy just bring everything downstairs because it was always easier to work downstairs. But now the computer is up here as well as our old tv so we have been spending a bit more time. Maddie likes to play up here.
We moved everything last week and then hubby started painting the room. We rent but the landlord hadn't painted yet before we moved in and gave us the choice to have him paint it all or we could paint and choose our own colors. The room was already blue but it needed repainted, we just hadn't got around to it yet, so the room got a fresh coat of blue paint.
Next we moved in the crib that had been in Maddies room and a dresser that M&Fil had given us for the baby. We also put the swing back together that we had for Maddie and got a bassinet set up too, and it will go in our room for the first few months before we move him to his own bedroom.
We actually got a great deal on the bassinet, we had to get a new one because we sold our other one before we moved, not really having room to bring it or knowing yet at the time that I was pregnant (I believe I was about 3 weeks along when we moved.) Luckilly we had a little bit of extra $ from Davids student loans and we knew we would need a new stroller that both Maddie and baby would fit in and that we needed a bassinet so we started looking last week. First place we looked was BRU, the stroller they had that was a sit and stand was $129.99 and their only bassinets were WAY too expensive. So I said lets go check out Target and see what they have. David told me he had already looked online and they had the same one for the same price, but I wanted to go anyway. We went and started looking and they didn't even had any of the strollers on display so we were disappointed that they were all out. They had a couple bassinets but the cheapest was $100 and we didn't want to spend that much. Just as we were leaving the section we noticed an endcap with some big boxes. One was a stroller, the same one we had been looking at and it was marked 1/2 off because the box was damaged!! Then right next to that was the bassinet marked 1/2 off because it had a damaged box! We couldn't believe our luck!! So we got them both for only about $120 which is less than we would have paid for just the stroller!!!
There isn't a whole lot of extra space in the room because there are some built in bunk beds. The landlord told us when we moved in that he could remove them before we moved in or that we could remove them ourselves at any time, but really we are worried it will be quite a task, and we dont' know what the floor looks like underneathe and behind boards that are attached to the walls....
Here are a few pics of the room and stuff

Maddie had to be a big helper and grabbed a paintbrush to help too :)

Then when we were all done and the paint was dry we moved in the crib and got the bedding put in, altho I do still need to take it off again and wash it.

These pictures will go on the walls

Since there were a couple nails already in the wall I hung them temporarily just to see how they look on the wall, then will end up getting moved somewhere else later.
Here is his coming home outfit we picked out for him to wear:

Of course Maddie wanted to climb up to the top bunk and play since we were in the room, and she asked me to take pictures of her since I already had the camera out

The dresser~ the changing pad may or may not stay there, I never used it with Maddie, but for now I am just leaving it on top of the dresser.

Then we put the swing back together and Maddie decided she wasn't too big for it yet.

When we were finished with that she helped me put together the bassinet!

The room is pretty much ready now. Just needs a baby in it :)

I love the crib sheets and stuff and the pictures. So cute! And his coming home outfit is adorable.
Of course, Maddie is totally beautiful, as usual!
It reminds me so much of my house. My daughter was 2 1/2 when our son Aidan was born. We painted his little room blue and used her crib for him. It's like DEJAVU.
