My son turns one on Friday, and he's naturally turned away from the bottle towards table food, with the exception of his nighttime bottle, which he gets after his bath and he loves (I swear, he looks like a drunk about to score a fifth when I approach him with bottle in hand). I just can't believe how much this little bugger can eat, though! He's getting taller and no longer gaining weight every month (he's been around 23 pounds for a couple of months), but check out a typical day for him:
Breakfast
4 egg whites & 1/2 slice swiss cheese
1/2 cup plain yogurt
small bowl cheerios with milk & 1/2 banana, chopped up
Lunch--he eats whatever we're having.
1/2 cup baked spaghetti
1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1/2 cup applesauce
1-2 pieces wheat bread
Dinner--he eats whatever we're having; last night he had...
small cheeseburger
1/2 cup baked beans
1/2 cup corn
1/4 cup pasta salad
dinner roll
chocolate pudding
Sometimes I can't shovel it in fast enough, but if I put food on the tray of his high chair, he jams it all in his mouth and chews with gigantic chipmunk cheeks :)
