I knew it was bound to happen. She's turned into a hair grabber! I was hoping to let it grow a little bit longer (I want to donate to locks of love), but I don't know how much longer I can hold out.
On a positive note, we've finally started the whole food adventure and it's going pretty well. She's only had rice cereal so far, but I've already pureed some sweet potatoes for her to try next. I also went and bought a lot of organic grains so I can start making my own baby food - I'm pretty stoked about that!
Anyone else make their own food for their little ones? When did they start eating? Little Miss is 5 and a half months - she started grabbing food off of plates so we figured she was ready!

keep your hair in a ponytail, braid or bun. it's the only way to keep the hair and keep her from grabbing it.
Soon she'll be eating stuff that I don't think I've ever eaten! I got her some millet and barley - the Super Baby Food book has been a great reference!
Some foods yes I did make myself. The easy ones carrots, peas etc.
I started feeding my kids with in a week of coming home from the hospital. I started out with rice cereal. But was the first week or two messy because I had to make it runny as possible. I know they say not to do this but all my kids turned out fine and no food allergies.
I started feeding him real food when he was about 4 months old. That's when his pediatrician recommended we start. I made some of his food myself, but bought most of it, for the first 4-5 months. It was so much easier and cheaper while I was working! He only ate baby food until he was around 9 months old or so. I know that on his first Thanksgiving, he was already eating pretty much whatever we were (he was 9.5 months old then), and enjoyed just about everything we had that day. Our friend that was over for dinner was so surprised that he was eating the same food as everyone else. He just got where he wouldn't eat pureed, even if I left it pretty chunky, food anymore.
My kids loved mashed potatoes, I just didn't put any salt or butter in theirs.
No problems althought the doctor cautioned thst the digestive system might not be ready.
Lots of earring grabbing - until he was two:)
