The Circus is Coming, the circus is coming........

Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is coming to Pittsburgh.  I was considering taking the kids. 

I went as a little girl and it scared me.  The monkeys looked so fierce and the lions were too....I had nightmares for two weeks after I went.  I was about 5 years old.

Have you ever been to the circus and did you like it?

I took my kids to a Toby Tyler circus when it was on Staten Island in the mid 1980's I had a bad feeling while sitting on the bleachers with them. So bad we left early and no one was happy with me. Those bleachers collapsed the next day and many people got hurt.

I grew up going to the Shriner Shrine Cirucs,, every year for about 25,, I quit when my kids started to take thier kids,, I aint that old to take three generations,,,LOL
I can't support any circus that uses animals in their acts. There are some circuses that just use people, & dogs for laughs - they are pretty good.

Dad was a Shriner and we used to go to the Shrine Circus every year - such fun! There used to be a smaller circus that came and set up in the 4-H fair grounds Cole Brothers I think but it just was not as nice as the Shrine circus. I have been to Barnum and Bailey Circus too and loved that, the one act I can not get out of my head was the contortionist who squeezed into a clear small square box - kinda gross but you could not stop watching - just amazing what a good contortionist can do!

Uh, uh...went as a child and did nOT like it...but winters were most interesting near Sarasota, Fl., where Ringling brothers had winter quarters..Once an elephant stuck his trunk in my bedroom window.....AIEEEE!!!!
