The Sunshine State and Friends

I'm here in the Tampa area after driving 17 hours from Pittsburgh to visit my Dad.  It is definitely the Sunshine State.  One doesn't wake in an unhappy mood when the sun is waiting for you to go appreciate it.

My daughter is considering a college in the Daytona area.  Driving on I-4 is like driving in NYC.  You take your life into your own hands and watch out for those traveling 90 mph and talking on their cell phones and they don't even look while changing lanes, nor do they look to see if someone is in the lane they are drifting into!!  Thank God we are fine but it was very very close.

The best part of my trip was that I got to meet a wonderful friend Diana D.  She is awesome.  She gave us a tour of her work and spent an hour getting to know us. I met her on Gather and she is a great friend.  Thank you for meeting me Diana!! You made my trip so much better!!!

I grew up in NY and I miss the beach a lot.  I love sitting by the ocean.  The power of it makes one feel small.  My sons seemed to love it too.  They didn't want to leave the beach. 

I really like the weather here this time of year but I'm not sure I'd like the sweltering summers they have here.

It is a wonderful place to visit but I sure do miss my home.  I wish Pittsburgh had year round 70-80 degree weather.  That would be ideal to me.
