Well I was able to cash out again but in doing so I realized it has taken me about 9 months to be able to do so. I wanted to take a closer look at my cashing out history because I think it is a good indication of the ease or lack thereof in earning points.
I have been a gather member since May 2006 and the first year it took me a while to get the hang of gather. When i finally cashed out for the first time I was stoked though.
From that point on it seemed earning and participating was a blast. From Sept 2007-Dec 2007 I was managing to cash out once a month and i was stoked. Then the points really started to slow down, I also think the quality of content also deteriorated on gather.
Since then it is very difficult to earn points and I feel like the only way to keep earning is to play games, post useless content and leave tons of generic comments. I think this is a huge reason why the content on gather has changed so much.
What does your redemption history look like? What are your thoughts on earning points, content quality and whatnot? I am interested to see where everyone else stands.
