Teaching Diversity

In the latest issue of Smart News, the Smart Television Alliance talks about TV shows that promote diversity. For example, the upcoming PSB Kids show Miss Rosa (pictured left) encourages bilingualism. Television is a unique tool for teaching kids about other cultures, and showing them how our differences make us special.

I have no children, but certainly wouldn't force "diversity" upon their little minds at such an age. Diversity is nothing more than a general respect for all people. Such an important value for life shouldn't be left to books or teachers, it should be a daily, moment by moment instruction by the way you live, and tolerate others around you.

Of course, I'm just a single guy with no kids, so what the hell do I know???
