This is a good show for kids in the 9 to 11 age group...
13-year-old Jennifer (“Scout”) grew up in New York City with her photojournalist father, but when he takes an assignment that will take him around the world for an indefinite period of time, she’s shipped off to live with her mom, now remarried and running her family’s lodge in South Africa. Fortunately, this show goes way beyond “City Pre-Teen in Rural Area” clichés.
Scout’s nowhere near a Gossip Girl, and is surrounded by a cast of interesting characters, from Bongani Sibisi, a Zulu boy who becomes her best friend, to Sherna, a baby elephant.
Lots of animal talk, info about different cultures, and life lessons – including Scout getting acclimated to her mom’s new husband and ten-year-old stepbrother, Tyler -- a dead ringer for Prince Harry.
Because of the time this program airs, you should record it.
Has anyone seen this show? What other shows are good for the 9-11 age group?
