You're always told, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." But, when you look at the cover of this book, you can't help but want to pick it up and learn the secrets within. Just on the cover the book says it will show you "how to make more money, rock your career, and revel in your individuality." Ok, I'm sold. Sign me up! This sounds like exactly what I've been searching for all these years!
As I was reading through the book, I felt myself thinking "Wow, this makes so much sense!" It also reminded me a lot of the book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. Both books talk about attracting good things and seem to be self-help type books. I must admit that once I was reminded of "The Secret" and the similarities, I was distracted from this book.
I think my favorite chapter in this book would have to be "Resign as general manager of the universe. The control freak 12 step program." Did the author know me personally when she wrote this chapter?? Oh my, it was like I was looking into a mirror! One thing that really spoke to me was the line "The more you try to hold it all together, the more it has to fall apart. The more you try to control others, the more they shout, "MUTINY!" and jump ship."
This book forces you to examine your life, your career, and everything about yourself. It forces you to really look at things in ways you would avoid looking at life before. And to make the hard decisions and do the things you don't want to do but know you need to do in order to succeed.
It seems that these are the things we all try to avoid. We all know, at least on some level, what we should be doing to improve our lives. But, either out of fear, laziness, or a combination of the two, we neglect to make any significant changes. We continue on our unhappy paths in life. We constantly wonder why things aren't getting better. We wonder why we aren't happy. We wonder why we aren't successful. When, all along, we just need to take a step back and examine our lives and take the steps necessary to change our futures.
Overall, I would say that this book is a good read. It's definitely the kind of book you don't want to put down. You will find yourself thinking that it makes so much sense, and that you've done so many similar things in your life. It's a definite mood booster and an empowering book for those of us who need some positive encouragement in our lives.

I've also done some other things with my life since reading this book and generally I am starting to feel alive rather than a drone meant to do whatever for someone else.
