Wipe your slate clean. Forget everything you knew, or thought you knew about succeeding in everyday life. Forget everything you learned or could have learned and pick up this book to start anew.
Renegade: A person with a degree of passion and commitment, exceeding the norm.
Christine Comaford-Lynch is a high school, and college dropout. She ran away at 16 to become a model, talked her way into college, and eventually became a Buddhist monk, only to break her vows. A year later, she was back in the real world with a new-found respect for the business world.
Aside from being a Microsoft engineer, a five time CEO, and a multi-millionaire,and making an 8 million dollar mistake, she is, what every man, woman, and child dreams to be, a renegade.
Renegades are not meant to have rules, for that is what makes them who they are. This book consists of two things for the renegades in our lives. One, is a reminder for those of us that already are, the other is a tool for those of us that are inspired to become. She does what she wants and gets things done.
Regardless of how successful you are, you will find tools, resources and insights that will help you improve in your business, career and personal life. It won't leave you craving more, because she connects every chapter to further free and useful resources she provides on her website. Everyone likes free stuff right? The number of extras you'll find there is quite generous. Go to http://rulesforrenegades.com for more information.
You will learn so many things from this book. 10 Rules, or guidelines is all it takes to turn your life, your job, your business upside down and start rocking.
According to Rules for Renegades, the secrets to an abundant life of riches can be broken down into ten simple rules:
Rule 1: Everything’s an Illusion, So Pick One That’s Empowering
Rule 2: An MBA is Optional, A GSD is Essential
Rule 3: Problems + Pain = Profit
Rule 4: Build Power Instead of Borrowing It
Rule 5: Rock Rejection and Finesse Failure
Rule 6: Learn to Love Networking
Rule 7: Only You Can Lead Your Life
Rule 8: Work Your Money Mojo
Rule 9: Resign as General Manager of the Universe
Rule 10: Don’t Just Do Something, Stand There
It all sounds great, and may seem to read like a motivational speaker's speech. However, she backs up each rule with true to life experiences, her knowledge, and solid advice. Self empowerment is the core of her message, but it's not all cut and dry.
This book is a fun read as well. You can view it as an autobiography of sorts, or you can take her info, her life experiences, and learn from it. All in all, this is a valuable resource for anybody tempted to start a business, but not for those that want a detailed step by step.
I wouldn't refer to this book as a bible, but it lifted my spirits, and definitely make a change on how my life is ran. It may have been a small step but it changed my way of thinking.
Degrees are something, but they certainly aren't everything.
Take the book for a spin. You won't regret it, I haven't!

So many terrific comments. First, I've found rules actually are helpful when one wants to navigate the world on one's own terms. These are the secret rules, though, the rules no one talks about, which is why I wrote the book. Had I known these rules earlier in my life it would've been easier. Oh well!
Another comment above I noted was the idea of changing one's life only to come back to where it was. Maybe it didn't need to be changed? Maybe it was cool as is? I continuously change my life in increments, tuning it as I go. Yes, sometimes I make whopping changes, like when I design and embrace a new identity (see the New Illusion Worksheet on RulesForRenegades.com for help).
But lately I've been tweaking my life to include more time with my wonderful husband, more time with my hospice patient who is so amazing and has so little time left on this fascinating planet, more time in the garden.
Thanks for sharing all your thoughts with me, everyone. I am moved by your generosity and support.

I'm just coming by to give you tons of comments tonight...just like I promised. I may not be making personal comments on each one, but you can know that I will definitely enjoy your photos...and will probably spend more time than I have reading your articles.
This is my Happy Holidays, etc. to you!
Take good care of your self. You are great about sharing cool stuff.
