Nelly Furtado has been promising an all spanish album for a while now, I remember hearing her talk about it over two years ago. Finally, (yes, finally!) Nelly is ready to release some of it for our listening pleasure, beginning with Manos Al Aire.
The great news though, is that Nelly has written all new songs for the album, at least that is what I heard her say in a preview clip, instead of just recording some of her older songs in Spanish like she said she was going to do. New music is always better, most of the time anyway, but with an artist like Nelly Furtado I don't think there is anything to worry about.
If you are familiar with any of her music, you know that she does try to include a little Spanish or Portuguese into the album or just individual songs. One of my favorite Nelly Songs, even though it technically is a Juanes song, is Fotografia, which would not be what it is without her voice.

As for the new album, Mi Plan, it includes 12 new songs, all in Spanish and I can't wait to hear more. So far Nelly has released the single Manos Al Aire, and while I like it and think it is very much her style I am hoping there are more songs that are a little less pop because I really like the indie/folk side of her music. As for Manos Al Aire, I will be buying it and it already is a well played song that has me (and the girls) out of our seats and dancing.

Que suave canta Nelly!
Gracias Amiga!
She has a beautiful voice. I don't know much Spanish (but I wish I did). Even though I don't know what she is saying, she has such a nice voice that I can still enjoy listening to her.
I like the first one better than the 2nd on personally~
