I think I have said enough times on here that I love flamenco music, and I always enjoy flamenco fusion-- can't get enough of it. Lila Downs has been an artist that I always watch out for though because her music is so deep. It's the kind of stuff that just pulls you in and doesn't let go.
Ah
Anyway, I have been loving her latest album for a while now, love the collaborations that are on the album and I like the new sounds she is working with. One of the songs, Ojo de Culebra features Chambao, a favorite singer of mine. I love just throwing down and dancing to this song or just sitting back and listening to the beats/words-- its so guttural.
I have been playing more and more of my favorite flamenco music in the house, for the girls to listen to. After I took them to that show a couple weeks ago they have been adamant about learning how to flamenco and I have shown them the basic steps. The good thing though, they have that natural rhythm-- which I don't think you can teach. Who knows....
Anyway, here is Ojo de Culebra from Lila Downs
