Just thought I'd do a quick update. The 'Search for the Next Great Crime Writer' contest voting is now underway and honestly, I'm a little overwhelmed. I've been reviewing as quickly and thoroughly as possible. /there is a lot of great writing out there, and so many wonderful and thoughtful reviewers! It's been fun, and very educational to read not only the entries, but also the comments and critiques. It's better than taking a creative writing class!
I thought I'd also give you a teaser about my entry, Identity Crisis:
Twenty-five years after being forced into witness protection, Alison Jessop is now living as Nancy Claypoole, a happily married, semi-retired private investigator whose family, including her 25-year-old daughter, Andrea, is completely unaware of her past. She is content to reminisce once a week with Herman ‘Casey’ Case, the one person who knows the whole of who she is. But when she arrives to find Casey dead of an apparent heart attack, leaving behind a mysterious note, Nancy begins to suspect that she has been discovered. In order to secure a future for herself and her family, Nancy must revisit a past that she thought she had escaped; while Andy, who has followed in her mother’s footsteps and become a private investigator, begins her own search for the truth, against Nancy’s wishes. Mother and daughter search for answers, following separate but inextricably linked paths, ultimately finding that even previously unknown relationships can have a profound impact on their lives.
I hope you find the time to vote on the entries. I know I have a lot invested in mine, and I'm sure the others do as well.
Thanks, and happy reading!!
