CAN I WRITE?

For some time now I have always wondered if I can write a book, an article that people will read and like. I started stories before and end up throwing them away because my mind tells me that they do not have what it takes. By writing this I am looking for any insights that would help me as I attempt to write an article to sare here on Gather--here it goes:
The sun is shining, ever so brightly and all I want to do is to block it out! Pull the curtains closed and sit here, here in my own darkness! Why? I ask myself must I always feel so down in the dumps when everyone else has smiles on their faces? As each day starts I dread the thought of getting out of bed! Am I going crazy; Is this what God has intended for me? I turn the coffee maker to on and walk to the living room, where the shadows from the sun are forming and without even thinking, i reach up and pull the curtains closed. Yes, I say to myself! "Much better!" I walk over and sit down in my oversized Lazy Boy chair and close my eyes. Can I get myself through another day and if so; Where do I start? As I'm sitting in my chair, the telephone rings and causes me to pratically jump out of my skin! I let it continue to ring two, three and finally four rings! I race towards the phone and as I pick it up I hear a large bang; like the sound of a gunshot only louder. I pulled the phone to my ear and a woman yells "No! God! No! I scream Hello? but as I complete the word hello I hear the phone start to "Beep--Beep! If you'd like to make a call please hang up and dial again!'

Okay, first of all, if you want to keep your readers reading, you must check your grammar and spelling before sharing. Then, lose all of the exclamation points. They should only be used occasionally.
