National Novel Writing Month starts Nov 1st heads through the 30th goal 50,000 words.

I usually do it, have been for the past 3 years. It really stimulates you and gets you to drive yourself bonkers ...that is if your story hasn't taken you over! Hope to see many there.

I'm doing it. I've been working on research for the last six months and now ironing out the kinks in my plot. I'm pretty much good to know but I'd like to do some character profiles first.

This will be my second NaNo and hopefully my second win as well.

Yeah, I tend to write novels that require a lot of research. This time around it's a historical novel. I had to learn everything about the era to even begin to plot it out. Phew!

Hopefully it will come off as a realistic representation of the period.

I actually find the research part just as interesting and enjoyable as the fiction writing part. So, for me it's not as much of a burden as one might think.

OK, I'm in with both feet (and a computer).

Have a rough idea for structure, noodling it in my head but not planning to create an outline or character descriptions. I'm taking NaNo at their word and making this effort as muse friendly as possible. There is a key question that needs to be answered in the rough story idea in my mind. I thought about some options, none of which I liked a lot, so I've decided to let my characters come up with the answer. The winning character gets to be the protagonist.

Should be fun. If not fun, a good learning experience.
