Anyway....Jerry a friend of mine actually found her agent at one of these seminars. They aren't doing appointments, but you're rubbing elbows and chatting them up the two days you're there (because they really are approachable)....so, like I said...definitely worth the money.
I also sent them a quick e-mail suggesting that they take into consideration the source of Gather members who have books but have not went the routine submission route and rather self published retaining all rights (such as my own case) and now willing to work with traditional publishers for the wider distribution opportunities.
Arlene, you don't need a finished manuscript for this. As a matter of fact, it's probably a good thing if you don't because you're going to learn a lot about what agents and editors look for in an a novel and it'll be something to look out for when you write or revise. Plus, you'll be ahead of the game! ;-)
That is some great information to share with us Terri, thank you. Lord I wish I could go, but I will be flying into Washington DC for business and seminars that week. But keep an eye for other times they will do this, and post it Terri.

Thanks for the info Terri. I wish I lived in New York, but just in case if your all interested there is a new publishing company looking for writers who are not published yet and ones who are. I will be posting the link up in an article. They are also assioicated with the RWA. They pay 30 to 35 per cent royalities on ebooks and 7 per cent on paper backs. I maybe sending them book one.

You bet Kathleen. I'm *between* agents right now, but I can't afford to go. NY is way too expensive for my writing budget. I know several of these agents already, some via online interaction, but I'd love to meet the others in person.
