Classic Old Florida - Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, FL
Check out these cool bikes!!!
Here is one of the smiling winners of a bike competition.

You can expect celebrations featuring live bands, bike competitions and all sorts of fun events throughout the year.
Cool neon green - this bike attracted a lot of attention!

This trio of bikes competed and won.

This silver beauty was one of my personal favorites.
Loved the art work!

You'll find live entertainment, bike nights, classic car shows and fun bike competitions at the Quaker Steak and Lube Restaurant in Pinellas Park - Clearwater, FL. This place is not just a hangout for bikers, but the in-place to go for classic car fans and everyone who likes a good steak or a great burger with fries, whether it is bike night or not.
Out in front of the restaurant I spotted an interesting automobile.

During this event all sorts of cool prizes including a Harley and water skis were awarded both for the competition and at the fun games, like a jalapeno eating contest....
So there was no shortage of contestants competing in the tricycle races.

Trophy and prize awards - chicken?

The bikes in the parking lot were a sight to see and drool over.

Looks like this bike might belong to a serious biker dude.

The Corona (beer) girl handing out beads -
oh, those black spiked heels!

Since I don't understand the technical aspect of bikes, you'll forgive me, if I concentrated on the art work.
A smokin' shroom!

The snake lady!

Time to leave .........

We had a great time,
good food, good music and
my favorite, $3 Margaritas!

Oh ROSE! You know I would love to!!!~
Come on down:)
Cool Rose. What a great essay, but I have come to expect the best from you. Really enjoyed this one. I am sure there are tons of bikers out this time of the year.
This place and two others in my immediate neighborhood are always packed to the gills - weekends - bike nites you name it - we've got it. A good friend of ours has a Harley - we just tag along for the fun and the music on occasion.
Looks like fun for all... even the Harley Doggie.. so cute!
You got some great shots Rose!
Thanks, Bridget!:)
Very cool photo essay - my dad just got a Harley I am going to forward him this article!
He'd enjoy this place and if he does come down tell him there's another cool hangout just down the road about 3 - 4 miles - called BIFBURGER with bike nites - classic car shows - great BBQ and just plain nice people to hang out with.
It sounds like a lot of fun!
LOL! Love the Harley dog!!
Awesome photo essay Rose!
Kat - our area is biker heaven - we got at least three in the immediate area not to mention the ones on or near the beach.

what a lovely collection of bikes Rose!
Cristina, you would have loved it, great fun. We'll have a hard time deciding where to go when you come down.
awesome rides!
Thanks, Nancy:)
Awesome!
I used to really love the bikes (and bikers!) and participated as an ornament on the back for many rallies. Kevin thought it was necessary to have a bike to win me over when we were first dating (not!) and went out and bought a scooter. :o) It was so darn cute of him. I convinced him it wasn't necessary and he could get rid of it after he screwed up his knee for the second time.
We have Quaker Steaks around here, and I used to love to peruse the parking lots for these kinds of things. The artwork you showed is just amazing! Lots of fun memories for me in this post!
Ina - the ornament - I can totally see that:)
That place is a lot of fun at bike night and they do know how to throw a party!
Actually I was blown away by the bikes, we had a blast and I was impressed with the food. We went with friends who have a Harley and because a friend of ours played (music) at this particular event.
One of my favorite Quaker Steak memories is when I saw a free Gretchen Wilson concert there. She had just broken through to stardom, but kept her prior to stardom promises to play at several venues country-wide. She sang several songs, including "Redneck Woman", before moseying off to bigger and better things. I even convinced my son to go witness this event with me. :o)
Awesome photo essay Rose! Hubby's best friend goes to Florida for this every year. Now I understand why, looks and sounds like a great time! And ya can't beat those margaritas for 3 bucks...
A biker's dream ! Great photo essay ,Rose. " Body piercing by Glock 9MM " , LOL!!
Phil - ya that was a hoot, I couldn't get over that when I saw it.
