Are you a collector?

When my husband and I got married, he was already collecting and Star Trek stuff he could get his hands on.  He still does.  I think we could do a whole Christmas tree just in Star Trek ornaments. 

 

Now he is also collecting Coke things.  We just got a oke semi and a Coke float et from Coke Rewards.  The whole top of the desk is covered with Coke things.  More things are on the boodcases.  I even have Coke dishes!

 

My brother collects both Coke and M&M things.  My sister collects Normal Rokwell things.  My son-in-law collects both Star Trek and Normam Rockwell.  I have a real love of candles.

 

So, please, tell me what you collect, what you have a love for and why!

I collect demitasse tea cups, coffee mugs (Christmas, colorful, toile, whatever), tea for one set, and asia tea sets. I'm hoping to add tea and toast sets but they are more difficult to come by.

I collect Glass.Green,Red,Blue,Blach,milkglass.old pottery,watts ware,I love the things my mother threw out.The older the better.I wanted to open a store but that won't happen so now I will past what I have collected for the last 30 years to my kids.

I have some collections. I have alot of blue willow china that my Mom and Gram got me when I was living abroad. I have tons of Apple Decorations and Americana folk art signs. I am crazy about scrapbooking, so I love to add to my collections of scrapbooking gear. I have quite a few pieces of cobalt blue glassware as well. I know that if I really thought about it there is probally several other things I collect. Alhough at present I am currently not very aggressive with adding too much to my stuff as I have a bit of a clutter problem....

I collect cookbooks, American Sweetheart depression era dinnerware (mainly inherited) and the Hubby collects movies and books.

I used to collect red head dolls and eggs....I have been holding off getting any until I see how the ones I have hold up around the little one :)

I collect those little spoons from all the states I visit and foreign countries. Haven't been anywhere new in a long time so haven't gotten new ones.

I used to collect all sorts of owls but hadn't gotten any new ones of those until my recent birthday when my daughter got me a new owl figurine.

I don't collect for myself but I'm always collecting for other people. My daughter collects turtles. My son collects Budweiser mugs. My friend collects lighters.

I collect music boxes, first edition and signed books, and fairy stuff. It's more like people know I like fairies, so I always get them as gifts!
I collect cats and giraffes...oh and stars and moons....but I have a cat or two in every room

Years ago, I used to have a collection of small decorative boxes of different materials: china, enameled, wooden, metal, etc. Unfortunately, practically all of them were destroyed in a fire. I still have a few, but I don't collect them anymore.

I'm a quilter and what quilter doesn't have a fabric stash? And quilt books. I have some vintage quilts - all inherited - and I'd be happy to buy more, but they're mighty expensive. And then there's the fact that Israel, where I live, is a pretty much quilt-free zone.

I used to collect but I ran out of room and keeping everything clean and dust free became too much work. I now only have some cat theme items and my snowmen for Christmas.

I used to collect coins and baseball cards. I haven't done this in over 30 years. It's all locked in a safe and I have no idea how to open the safe.

I collect so many things. I think it is in the genes as my dad collected pipes and tankards and jazz records, my mom green depression glass and things with owls on them, and I collect depression glass, fiestaware, things with chiles on them and cows, cookbooks (nearly 650), Pez dispensers, certain dolls (Erica Kane, Rosie O'Donnell), hot sauces, McDonald's Kids Meal toys, small pitchers, refrigerator magnets from places I've been to, shells, things with scottie dogs on them, rhinestone pins (old ones) and 1960's flower pins, just to name a few! My son has collections too - Megazords from Power Rangers, baseball cards, Yugi Oh cards, National Geographic Magazines (old and recent), and Guinness Books. Husband has started a few collections over the last 2 years too - geodes, small vases, ceramic birds, and has always collected cd's and records. It runs in the family!

I've given up collecting anything and am trying to clear out all the stuff I have. I used to collect cat figurines but I just had too many and needed the space. I still collect pennies but just long enough to roll them up and take them to the bank.

I collect pandas, Serendipity books, some TY beanies and those mini neopets that you got in Mc Donald's happy meals. I also collect those Tea Rose animals that used to come in the Tetley Tea boxes.

I guess I collect books, too.. judging from my 2 full bookshelves.

Back when I had way too much time on my hands, I was a collector of "Danger Girl" comics. I acquired most of them from eBay. Although I'm no longer adding to the collection, I now have several boxes of vertically stacked comics, each one in a mylar bag braced with an acid-free backing board and tagged with a color-coded circle hand-printed with a record key to an Access database with additional details. Yeah, I guess I'm a geek.

My hubby would say I collect dust. HA! Seriously we collect antiques. Anything that's cool and for a good bargain. We don't go antique-ing very often, maybe once every six months, because of my husband's accident five years ago. It's hard for him to stay on his feet for very long.
