I give up!!! I have changed Addiction Central

I give up.  I created Addiction Central to discuss addictions in life.  Every article posted is everything but this.  So rather then delete every article I have changed the purpose of Addiction Central. 

The new focus of Addiction Central is to Come here to post anything you would like to share.  

 

If you are interested in a group about addictions, please visit my new group (which I guess I have to moderate).  The new group will focus on everyone sharing your addictions and how you wish to end them. How it affects you or how you are affected by a loved one's addiction. Share your success and your failures with your addictions.  You can join at:

Sorry you ran into a problem with your group Denise. I have learned that moderating my groups intended for a specific purpose, helps alot. As an added benefit, by moderating I'm able to view alot more comment that I normally would have missed by it being buried with in the group. Good luck to you on the new one!

I know the feeling Denise. I started a group called Charlie's Corner that was supposed to be about pets. I did have it moderated but I didn't have the heart to turn anyone away. I'm just a softie I guess. I ended up making a post anything group.

Bless your heart. I'm sorry that your first group didn't work. I do think if you have a specific purpose, you have to moderate the groups. Otherwise, just as you discovered, people tend to send everything. I think it would help if there could be a brief reminder of what the groups are when we're selecting them while publishing.

Sorry to hear that. I get that all the time with my groups. I just go in and delete what doesn't apply. It is getting to be a pain, though. I can see making a mistake once in awhile by accidentally posting to the wrong group, but many just do it anyway.

Good luck with your new group. I also have noticed that you need to moderate the group. Or risk people sending anything in. I have a group I moderate.

So before I accept the group offer, which I havent clicked on it yet, just now checked it out. I can join one group for anything and everything, and the other for like I want to quit smoking???? I really would like for you to PM me about this before I join.

Good idea, I had to moderate my group after awhile. People were just dumping junk into it that had nothing to do with kids. Good luck!

thanks for sharing.......you know I have found that we ALL have our vices be it, food,sex,alcohol,shopping,gambling etc
yeah, that's what happens...If you moderate people get pissed because their off-topic junk gets bumped...it you don't moderate the group site turns into a garbage dump.
