Wednesday morn, 4:45 A.M.
"Fran, wake up. Listen, I'm going to throw on some clothes and walk down to the center. I want to see what Commercial Street looks like at dawn. I couldn't believe last night with all of the people milling around...I really couldn't take pictures of the architecture of the homes and stores. I also want to go down to the wharfs and take pictures of the fishing fleet as well as the excursion boats. I want an accurate taste of what this town is like in the winter when the tourists are gone."

"Do we have to walk, Bob? We walked about 5 or 6 miles last night. My feet are really tired", she said sleepily. My feet were tired too...The Provincetown Inn is in the West End, maybe two miles from the center.
"Why don't we drive down there? I'm sure we could find a parking spot this early."
"Sounds like a plan to me...just put on your clothes. Don't wash up or brush your teeth, we can do that when we come back for the big breakfast downstairs." With that, the two of us were out the door, in the car and driving down to the center. Just before the monument, we saw a "sculpture garden or maybe I should say yard".

After parking the car, we walked down through a back alley to Commercial Street, the main thoroughfare.
Commercial Street was empty except for some municipal workers, delivery trucks and trade people. Perfect for my plan.

Walking out through those back doors, we discovered the old marqee from the theatre laying in the sand.

On the beach in front of the sign, I discovered a rack of kayaks...perfect for Sherrie's group Rainbow Connection.

Going back to the Main Street, we saw a Ben and Gerry's...but it was too early for ice cream. I wanted to find a coffee shop that served the locals...

Nope, don't need my tarot cards read...need some coffee.

Oh my, just think if Duckie from Gather was here...she probably would buy out this shoppe.

Notice the reflection in the glass...have my clothes on from last night.

That man looks like he's looking for some java too.

Decided to talk to a "local" sitting on the back of a whale....but he just turned his head. He could spot a tourist a mile away. Maybe I should head out to the fishing wharves... bound to be coffee there.
Will Bob find her morning coffee...stay tuned for Part IV ~ The Harbour

Leaving for Washington, DC today to see Will. Should be fun.
Thanks for sharing your photos.
Have a great weekend.
Laughing out loud here... I love it, of course! That picture of the duckies is perfect, especially with your reflection included!!! The text on the windows could not be more appropriate, too...
Thanks for pointing it my way, Bob. I really needed this lift to my spirits after a real lousy day yesterday. We had to bury a friend. Now the sun shines and another friend makes me smile with a window full of ducks. :-)
I'm glad I lifted your spirits just a wee bit and yes "kindness", "books", and "joy" are good words to describe you.
See my dirty clothes in the reflection. They are all washed now and ready for a new adventure in DC. Gonna hang out with Will, my oldest, this week-end. Camera is packed...
Arrived in Washington...Will met me...took a cab to the hotel and then went out to eat. I had a late lunch with Fran so I had a decadent cholocolate cake with coffee ice cream and raspberry sause and whip cream. Then Will and I walked around Depont Circle looking at architecture. Mel and Will will be coming at 9 tomorrow morn....should be fun. You know what that means....I can be up and out at 6 A.M. taking pictures before they arrive. Will already showed me a Starbucks coffee shoppe that opens at 6.
Thank you. I'll just pour another 8:30 pm cuppajo and put my feet up, never having walked so much as a single block...
(((smiles)))

Love the early morning shots and you too, Bob. Hope you're having fun with Will.
Imagine having dessert for supper...he had Cheesecake with raspberries and I had "Dysfunctional Family Chocolate Cake with coffee ice cream, etc. Honestly, that was the name "Dysfunctional Family......". Both Will and I laughed.
Hey, I'm getting used to this thing-a-ma-jig without a mouse....maybe I can do a laptop.
Ptown is a lot like Key West.
I had forgotten that Ptown was the first landing point for the Pilgrims. What I do not understand but have to research is how the Vineyard was est. in 1602.
Must be a Jamestown connection.
My ancestors and Elizabeth Madrigals ancestors were the Mayhews.
