Backyard birds and things....(photo essay)

I can't seem to post photos again...I've tried and tried...so I'm going to see if I can post my photos this way. These were all taken 2 days ago in the backyard.

 This poor robin has seen better days...I wonder what tried to take a bite outta him.

He was definately caught in the act...look at that nut hanging out of his mouth.

He didn't think I could see him....

When I tried to get closer, he looked at me...then ran.

The blue jay is so skittish that it's hard to get a good shot.

This little woodpecker just loves the suet....

He actually works his whole body inside the cage.

After a while, the little squirrel came back to just sit and watch me.

Then the yellow finch started staring....I don't care for the birds that stare back. LOL

 I don't care for the morning doves...they make such a big mess on my van.

Usually the birds are very bad at sharing the food at the feeder. The red bellied woodpecker usually scares away all the finches.

I just love watching the woodpeckers...they just hop up and down the trees so fast.

I had never seen one completely on the ground before a week ago....I think he likes the sunflower seeds that I scattered along the ground.

We have at least 2 different red bellied woodpeckers...this one is quite a bit larger than the other one.
