Honeymoon Survey

I'm conducting a bit of an informal survey regarding Honeymoon travel. If you're married, have been married, are planning to get married in the near future, or have thought about your honeymoon I need your input...

- For those who are married or have been married, what destination was your honeymoon to, and would you recommend it for other honeymooners? Anything in particular you liked about the location?

- If you're planning to get married or have thought about Honeymoon travel, what destination are you choosing or would you choose, and why?

We went on a Carnival cruise, and LOVED it. I recommend this experience to anyone.

For our Honeymoon (which was very short, we were both working, needed the money, couldn't take off a lot) we went to a Bed & Breakfast in a nearby River town. We wanted to spend a day or two just walking in the area and 'soaking up' the feel of the town. What we did instead was spend one night and then went back home to get the tuxes and turn them in early so we saved a little money. But that's what kind of honeymoon you get when you've dated for 7 years before getting married. You're very practical. ha.

We just went on a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. It was awesome!! We ate mostly on the ship, and our expenses were mostly on the excursions and the cost of the cruise itself. The cabin was more comfortable than I expected, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. Lots of things to do, though we didn't do a lot of shipboard stuff.

My dad sent us to Alamagordo NM. It was in Nov/Dec and 15 minutes west you could sun bathe and 15 minutes to the east you could go snow skiing.

My fiance Matt have discussed our honeymoon just recently. At one time we had planned something tropical, but now we are considering renting an RV and just traveling cross country for a couple of weeks. This way, we can take the dogs with us.

My wife and I went to the western part of Montana to a town called Hamilton and touched base with some of her family and friends. We stayed in a motel for a weekend and took in the Hamilton fair at the time. Hamilton is nestled in the Bitterroot Valley region of Montana a lovely place.

I ended up going to the place I swore I would never go: Gatlinburg. It's a great place and the Smoky Mountains have lots of wonderful hide-aways for honeymooners.

But I only live 40 minutes away from Gatlinburg. We're enjoying a romantic dinner and suddenly our church's youth group shows up in the restaurant. You get the idea...

We opted for a cheaper honeymoon so we could put a downpayment on a house.

We went to New Orleans. It came a gully-washer when we got there. Canal Street BECAME a canal. After the water went down we ventured downtown and toured Bourbon Street . Have to admit. We wouldn't go back. It was a rather trashy town with really seedy people. We didn't care for it. New Orleans is IMO OVERRATED.
For our 20th anniversary we are either going to go on an Alaskan cruise or drive cross country to Yellowstone. I'm leaning toward Yellowstone because we could afford to take the kids then. I don't want to somewhere cool like that without them

lol, never took a real honeymoon. went to a couple of places around hometown atlanta. and yea atlanta has alot to offer.

We went to Cancun to an all inclusive resort. It was pretty good. It was in the budget. That's what I liked about it.

When we got married we had no money so we tried to find the least expensive way to get away. We went on a carnival cruies to the Bahamas. Of course we made up for it by moving to Hawaii after my husband got out of basic traning in the Army.

My first marriage we went to St Augustine, Fl. Had a great time. Marriage ended in divorce. Second marriage...didn't have money so he took me to garage sales and Ole Towne Florida. My 13th anniversary I went to St. Augustine by myself...marriage ended in divorce. Don't go to St. Augustine. I would love to go back to Hawaii if I ever marry again.

We went to South Padre Island, Texas and loved it. It was quiet. The beach was awesome. It was inexpensive.

We waited and had our honeymoon later when we could afford it. We went on a cruise-
it was fantastic. We had so much fun. We traveled while we slept. Only had to unpack once.The people, food and talent were phenominal. We have now gone on forty cruises. It left a great impression. No matter where you go do your homework. Learn how to dress, respect other people and their belief's. Make sure you stay in safe places and don't be vulnerable to the wrong people. Above all have a great time...love and respect one another. You'll have wonderful memories.

It has been a long time since my honeymoon, 34 years. We drove from New York to Florida. We stayed the first night in a little cabin in the mountains of Virginia. Then we visit all the states on the Eastern seaboard on our way to Disney in Florida. While in Florida we visited the space center, disney, epcot, St. Augustine, and sea world. Then took the long drive back up to New York.

My husband and I also to a Carnival cruise but to the Carribean. It was amazing! We did upgrade to a balcony suite from a regular room and it was worth every penny. On the trip we took we went to The Grand Cayman Islands, Jaimaica, and Mexico. Total, including airfare, the cruise, extras, excursions, we spent about $5,000. It was an amazing trip.

Hubby and I went to Vegas and got married. We stayed a week - had an absolute blast!

we were in kenosha wisconsin and we only had a few hours alone!! wasnt much of a honeymoon!!!

We went to Chimney Rock Park in NC. It was a beautiful, quaint spot and perfect for us. We only had a few days and couldn't venture far, so it was very nice. We drove through a lot of beautiful scenery in the Great Smokey Mountains.

Since my hubby and I eloped, we couldn't afford anything elaborate, so we went to Six Flags!!! Our second honeymoon was better because we went to Las Vegas!!!! For our 35th wedding anniversary, next June, we plan on making a return trip!!!!

Got married in CA for friends and a month later got married in England for family, so extended our stay there.

Jennifer, I'm not near marriage either and haven't thought much about a honeymoon lol..I definitely recommend Rome if you get to Europe...

Sharon, my parents also went to Poconos for their honeymoon and loved it!

We didn't take a honeymoon, either, but I highly recommend it. It's about the only time a couple has to be together without children.

I know several couples who honeymooned at Disney World, going to the grown up events, knowing that their next Disney trip would include kids and breakfast with Mickey.

Well, when I was married... my ex and I elected to go to Las Vegas. I am a bit biased though; I would highly recommend a warm climate area! Just make sure that you find some place that both of you can enjoy!

I never went on a honeymoon. For two reasons. I could not afford one. And, two, I didn't have a babysitter for my son who was six months old at the time.

Since most couples spend most of their honeymoon consumating the marraige in their hotel rooms we opted to go for a themed hotel room. We picked the Arizona Cave Room at the WIldwood Inn in Kentucky (Google it you will be able to see all the different rooms they have and they are really cool). It was expensive but worth every penny we loved it, we felt like we were in another world that was all ours! Not to mention there was a hotel pool and the hottub in our room had a waterfall that came into it. WE loved it there and want to go back. WE also would like to take the kids iand stay in the family themed pirate ship room! LOL IT was a great honeymoon!

We were married on Mackinac Island in Michigan and spent our honeymoon there and visiting the surrounding U.P.

It was great and yes I would recommend it.

GOT MARRIED 11 YEARS AGO WE WENT TO THE TOWN OF WILLIAMSPORT AND WE STAYED IN A FANCY HOTEL FOR THE NIGHT WE COULDN'T STAY LONG BECAUSE WE HAD A BABY AT HOME WE LOVED THE HOTEL IT WAS CALLED THE GENETTI

We spent our honeymoon in New Hampshire. We did not have vacation time and could only get away for the weekend. This was within driving distance.

Niagara Falls is absolutely beautiful and has tons of "honeymooner" packages right on the falls. Unfortunately our dollar is worth squat anymore but at one time it was like an instant 1/2 off when you used the US dollar! It's a beautiful place and lots to do IF you decide to venture out for a bit! LOL

never really took a honeymoon - my hubby's father had terminal cancer, so went on vacation with him to a cabin. One of the best decisions we ever made.

LOL wow well, I am catching up on email. So this is a bit late. But I actually have a post way back on here about our honeymoon. No I don't recommend it to others unless they like it rustic and rough. It was in the mountains at my parents cabin. No electricity and we had a mouse it is a long story I don't have the link handy right now but you can click my name and go back and find it. Honeymoon Sweet.
