Summer pictures, Christmas, and more

It's 2 weeks to the day before school starts. I need to fill out paperwork still (I am SUCH a slacker!), and get it all turned into the school. I also need to find the nearest local health department to get copies of their immunizations. I think that's a joke, really- the school has the ability to type a name into a state records site, and pull up their full immunization records.

But instead of doing that, I have to call around and get copies, because the school won't do that until they see ours to verify them. Heck, most doctors don't even fill out the green cards anymore!

Moving on... With school starting, it gets me thinking of Christmas. Originally, our Christmas gift to the kids was a Nintendo WII that I earned at Boomertowne. The site cancelled that order, though, as they were out and had no more coming in.

Shortly after they did that, we found one single unit at Walmart here in town. The kids were with us, but we had enough to buy it, and after a short debate, we got it. So, instead of giving it to them for Christmas, it was kind of like a house warming present.

Right now, I'm gathering points with the intention of waiting until late October to cash out. I'm thinking a combo of Target and Gap gift cards (the Gap cards can be used at Old Navy), and using them to buy Christmas gifts for the kids.

I almost have enough for a $50 card now- 2,614. Ok, not almost, I guess, but I posted 28 pictures today, so as of tomorrow, I'll have 2,894 points, at least. If I can keep at that rate for the promo, I should do a good amount of points.

I'm not even going to try for the camera- I won't get enough ratings to put me in the top 10, though it would be nice. The points are good enough for me.

Anyway, those points are all being saved up through the end of October, when I'll cash out, and have the cards in time for Black Friday shopping. Some clothing from Old Navy, and a movie or game each from Target. Hopefully, the kids will have a decent Christmas just off my freebie earnings.

If Boomertowne ever comes through, I am owed $950 there. Boy, that would be great for Christmas. I've stopped building points up there. When I have enoguh for a $25 card, I cash out immediatly. No point in building them, or waiting for larger amounts. At the very least, the $25 Best Buy cards will also come in handy for Black Friday, if they ever arrive.

I want to wish everyone good luck with the summer pics promo. Hopefully, it will be a great help to the many people out there who can use the extra points right now.
