Psycho Fish

While we were at the zoo (2/8/08) we got a chance to see some huge fish in a water feature. I was taking pictures (minus the flash of course.)

I was basically minding my own business (in a fashion.)

When BAM! A fish darted from across the feature and tried to attack me through the glass! (Chances are it just thought the camera lens was the eye of a bigger fish and was being territorial)

Scared the mess out of me and I nearly landed on my tush from the squatting position I was in. My friend could not laugh enough. Hubby and child raced around the corner to see why I yelled and why the friend was nearly rolling on the ground laughing. Needless to say all found the deal quite funny and all future shots made of the water feature were done with one eye watching out for psycho fish.

Have I mentioned that the fish was not the only thing out to get me that day? The bird in this shot wanted to check us out.

looks like you n' family had a fun time exploring at the zoo...and yes,aquarium shots are difficult given the refractions and reflections....best to bracket your shots and shoot from different angles to avoid the hotspots and overexposure....cheers,gayle

My wife Loraine loves to tell the story of when she was 8 or 9 at a roadside zoo in Forida, no less---whereat she got spit on by a llama./// Then, as a form of deja-vu, several yrs ago at Stone Mnt. in Ga, we walked by a llama pen, and although it didn't land on her this time---a llama spit at her. I've been on and offline a lot lately with computer issues. The last time I was online, I saw your spider in the mailbox submission to http://helpidentifythis.gather.com/ and I promptly accepted it. I got signed on tonight and saw that it is still in the queque to be accepted. I'm sorry that it has taken so long. I don't know what happened. Lets see, you started out with a fly, then moved on to a big fish, then on to a big bird, then on to two big Parrots... What's next? I think you're trying to work your way up to a Safari trip...
You really got some great shots though.
BTW your little girl looked like she was having a good time. She's a cutie Pie. I had a couple like that one time, but they grew up. Enjoy her while you can!
