Looking out the window this morning I noticed the lovely pair of Sandhill cranes that I had seen by the lake a few weeks ago were still around. I grabbed my camera and dashed out the door in hopes of getting some better photos of them. While I was out there I noticed that our little lake was quite the gathering place for a variety of avian friends.
These two are perfectly in sync like chorus line dancers

Alone among......

a crowd.

Time to change location.

Summer's swans are still with us.

The cranes let me get a little closer
I got a little too close for comfort. The cranes took flight and headed for the beach.

Great stuff. Thanks for shariing.
all I see on our lake today is ice. Lots and lots of ice!
I also live on a lake and we have ducks, geese, loons, herons, gulls and cranes. They can be camera shy, but you've captured them beautifully.
