An Abstract View of Classic Cars (Photo Essay)

I briefly attended a festival and classic car show being held in Grand Park, Myrtle Beach today. The festival portion was rather lame, but then again I have pretty high standards from living in Atlanta so long. However, if old cars is your thing, there were a lot to check out.

Because of the sun's position, the shiny nature of the cars, and all the people walking into the photos I was taking, I opted to share my abstract shots from today.

I have full car shots too, but the abstracts simply look better and with no clutter. A few of these have been cropped to remove someone's arm or leg, but most are untouched.

I was only there for about 90 minutes because there really wasn't much to see or do. Thankfully there was no admission or parking fee, or I would have been majorly disappointed.

Those cars look good, especially the bright red and yellow ones.
The "annual" car show that is held here will be coming up soon. I don't know if I will go this year or not. I like to see the interesting cars, various paint jobs, etc....and of course, the classics. However, I have never thought about doing an "abstract" photo essay like you done here. It was a terrific idea and gave me a taste of the various cars you photographed....without the people. Great essay.

These cars are so shiny that there are fantastic reflections, as if they are colored mirrors. Colorful cars, love the color of the last one.

Wow...these are great. Sorry the festival didn't live up to your expectations. I'm thinking about going to Atlanta for the Japanfest in October.

Yes, he wanted to try some of the different BRBQ but it was just like last year, there weren't any BRBQ stands. I guess they are only on Friday night. He wasn't impressed and headed over to the beach.

A great subject to shoot. Your first photo in the essay is excellent. It looks like it was edited with filters and the way the pavement reflects on the bottom side giving the illusion of a "twist" is very cool. Thanks for sharing!

These are pretty much the same cars you always see at these things. However, they still are nice looking. It's amazing to me the money people put into these things keeping them up and stuff. Yesterday the Batmobile was in the Dragon*Con parade, pretty cool. I should upload it.

Yes, a polarizing filter might have allowed you to get shots that you couldn't otherwise, but I love your abstract views. You have an eye for art, that's clear!
