Time’s Lust for life
A short amble through the Van Gogh’s pastures, lustrous in chrome,
dust is leaving some patches on his trousers; all he can
dream is, warm water, detergent powder and a bath soap.
The shadows of crows are screaming towards four directions.
He should be back to his home by now; but instead the walk
lengthens itself, passes the woolen gold of farmer’s dream.
The breeze is breathing through foliages, always busy.
He cannot leave these, leave this life or even a cold wife
who presently is busy, half a mile away, over
a pot of humble mid of the month stew, dropping sweats.
And everything is rocking by time’s soft, timeless lullaby.

Let lovefly
With ethereal compassion, a soft glow in her eyes,
she picks up the baby eagle, tries to convey words
of eloquent reassurance, sincerely she tries.
Look, June is here this morning; and sun is shining hot;
last night’s storm belongs to last night; it has left an eagle;
a homeless, hurt, upset baby; it feels forlorn, lost, caught.
She takes it home; makes enclosures; feeds it with love, care.
It still feels solo, alone within, fed by love, fed up.
The enclosure of good concern grows smaller with time’s each turn.
The bird’s soul belongs to the sky; in its eyes silent prayer
flares up as it cries; shrill piercing call to its own kind.
Let it fly.

That is gorgeous !!!
Thank you sir.
While reading your first poem, I see Van Gogh strolling leisurely to his death in Wheatfield with Crows. Your second poem seems almost counterpoint to Tennyson's poem The Eagle.
Thank you for posting to The Surreal Circus. You are now featured.
Thank you for the link.
"last night's storm belongs to last night," it the midst of dreaming words a grand philosophy emerges.
You master the metaphor.
wow poddar. i like the enclosure solo part especially =)
you write beautifully
Both are divine, poddar, but that last one, so very exceptional :)
Both poems are filled with vivid energy and a fierce, poetic intelligence. Thanks for sharing with the Poet's Circle.
I love Van Gogh's paintings. The famers fields is one of my favorite. The one I live most is starry night. You really captured him.
I hope his tortured soul has found rest in the real Starry Night.
The second one is lovely.
Kushal, in your second poem Let Love Fly, I connect so well with the desire to hold and nurture and also the natural need for freedom. You show such a sensitive regard to both needs. The rescue, the nurture, the discomfort and then the release was passionate and earthy. I did like this poem very much.
Stary, stary nite, your palet does ignite the canvas. I sometimes relate so to Van Goghs obsessions and "madness" enjoyed the story and always the poetry.
Yes! I could feel the eglet screech to its kind, wanting to fly!...Tremendous..thank you
Even my paintings, I unashamedly confess, have his influence, specially in the technique of the brush strokes. Thank you.
ok, you have let the painting out of the box! Let's see some of your work, Poddar Gogh... Display on Poor Poet's Pantry please and I'll display some drawings..ok?
I have seen your works. They are amazing.
Van Gogh is fine but the baby eagle is great, thanks Poddar.
exceptionally exquisite verbal dances throughout both~ =)
Thank you for posting to GutterGirls~
I love Van Gogh and you have painted a marvelous poem.
You have such fine sensibilities, and they are beautifully expressed in your poetry.
Featured in the Triple Name Club.
Thank you for giving me strength
Your poems are always a fantastic journey Poddar. The second, like a fable reminds us of the dangers of good intentions.
Poddar, I like how you have used "lust for life" and inverted it into "Time's lust for life" Your poem shows not only the inevitability of fate but how Van Gogh became a part of his landscape. There is no other painter to my mind that melded so fully with his craft, his tormented life, and the glory of his surroundings. Part of Van Gogh's extreme beauty, and what comes across so brilliantly in his work, was his lack of boundaries. You have displayed this for us here. Bravo.
It amazes me how you can write so many poems so fast. Yet they are so very good
You inspire me. i need to pick up a pen again....
Excellent, Kushal.
"The bird's soul belongs to the sky; in its eyes silent prayer
flares up as it cries; shrill piercing call to its own kind."
What a beautiful image. This is every child's wish, when they try to rescue a baby bird, that it will find it's own again.
I feel as if I feel a joy for life after reading this Poddar. Bravo!

for posting to my group, Anythingwriting
"He cannot leave these" becomes increasingly meaningful as we face our own mortality. The eagle poem is excellent both at face value and as a metaphor. Two great pieces, Kushal.
beautifully done!
My favorite line is "And everything is rocking by time’s soft, timeless lullaby." Congrats on your features, dear Ku!
resolve to carry on, and let the eagle fly!
I love the images that you paint with your words. Both works stirred me and made me feel. I love how you can stir my emotions with your pictures drawn with the written word. You always manage to move me. Thank you so much for sharing your great talent and poetry with us. Peace
Kimber it is nice to know I can do something for you with my humble words.
Incredibly molded and nicely handled...how do you manage such delicate strings.I know it's hard to speak what you see...amazing write!
Such a wonderful piece of writing, Poddar. Just beautiful..
Your baby eagle poem feeds and heals us all. I love that poem. I am going to copy it and keep it with my "short/go to sleep" reading collection. What beautiful thoughts to go to sleep by. The love and caring it took to keep this little bird alive is why life is so precious. This was beautiful.
I'd like to see your paintings too, Kushal. If you can express feelings in your paintings as you do in your writing, wow!
Thank you. You love this too...
Irony etc.
I enjoyed the first one but the second one about the baby eagle was very touching. You could just feel how much the little eagle wanted to be set free to fly.
