AROUND THE YARD 6~17~09

WOW, what great photos!!!  These are amazing!  I finally know what that tree is called lol.  They are all over here and so pretty!  Cannes - are they lillies?  I thought it was Canna?  Or is that another kind?  I planted two of them and haven't seen them yet.  reckon they are food for something now, or rotted.  Figures!  Next year I will do better.

Thanks Pamela, they are Canna...sometimes they don't do so well the first year...mine are just planted in our yard which is heavy with clay and they grow like crazy.

Oooooh I see!  I thought I planted them in too wet soil.  Since its done nothing but rain since April.. I figured they just rotted.  My MIL said that they need a longer period of 'warm soil' then other bulbs so I should have waited until like July.  I sure do hope they bloom.  If not, I am back to the roses lol.  THOSE I can grow!

Love the balloon flower by the way!  One of my favorite colors too :-)

 I have never seen a balloon Flower before, katherine. wonder if those beauties would grow in florida?

I expect so Penni, they've been living in that pot for years and you know how hot it gets in Oklahoma...just water them once a day
